Winter Wonderland: Spots and Stripes

Hello!  I am back again today to share this card I made for the Winter Wonderland challenge:  Spots and Stripes.  The DT has made some spectacular cards this week; make sure you check them out!  Here is my card:

So, I searched my stash of dp and found these papers from the Recollections pad called Bright and Jolly.  Perfect fit for this challenege!!  I had this StampFairy image printed out just waiting to be colored.  His name is Jake, and he can be found here.  Getting away from my usual style, I decided to mat each layer of dp with the lighter green from the Botanical collection from The Paper Company.  This card will definitely have to be hand delivered with all those layers!!  Then I used more Studio 18 glitter paper to punch out a couple of Martha Stewart snowflakes in different sizes, added a gem, and used Star Dust Stickles on the brim of Jake's hat, the snowflakes, and the line of snow he's standing on.  The sentiment is from Studio G.  Well, I best get this finished and linked up...Chad and I are going to Red Lobster tonight, with some stops at JoAnne Fabrics and maybe Michael's!  :)

Take care!

"Oh Christmas Sketch, O Christmas Sketch..." a.k.a. JB:13:12

Happy Friday!  I'm here to share with you my take on this week's Jingle Belles prompt, which is a sketch created by the talented Stef:
and here is my interpretation:
I haven't used the Sizzix Scribbles Swirls die since last year, so I broke it out again to help embellish this card.  The snowflake punch is by Martha Stewart, and I used some Studio 18 glitter cs found at Michael's to punch it out.  The dp is from the Winter Wonderland pack by K and Co., which I love so much I bought 2!  Of course, it helps that the packs were on sale at the time!  :)  The sentiment is from the Festive Trees clear set from Fiskars.  I chose Peacock Feathers distress ink to color the edges of the circle, the swirls, and the three dots that came from the die.  According to my almost 13-year-old, Leandra, it would "pop" with that color!  :)

So, that's all for this post...I have made a few more cards that aren't for challenges, but I will post them another time.  Until then, take good care of yourself and your loved ones!  :)

Merry Monday 60!

Happy Monday!  I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but it is happy for me, as I have off tomorrow!  It's also another Merry Monday, and here is this week's sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

This card was REALLY taxing me for awhile...I couldn't find the right color to back the dp with, I had trouble deciding what the full horizontal panel should be...UGH!  Finally it came together in this configuration, and I am pleased with it!  You can't tell in the pic, but I added some gold Stardust Gelly Roll pen to the berries on the dp, and on the sentiment.  Oh, the dp is from Studio G, and the sentiment is from The Paper Company.  The shimmery gold paper was bought at Target a couple of years ago.

I hope you all have a chance to check out the DT cards for this challenge...they are FABULOUS!!  Make sure you also check out the other entries throughout the rest of the week!

Take care!

Merry Monday #64

Happy Tuesday morning!  This is the first Merry Monday of this year that I have the chance to participate in...YAY!!  Here is the sketch for this week:
And here is my entry:

I started searching my stash of Christmas papers for what to use, and came across this one in a pack I bought from the dollar spot at Target some time ago, which I matted on a piece of white.  Then I decided it matched this glitter paper from an unknown source.  I added a strip of white punched with the Dotted Wave punch.  All were inked with a green Studio G ink cube.  The ornament was cut from a scrap of red with a Sizzix die I found at Goodwill.  :)  I added the bling to it for more interest.
Well, I guess that's all for now...

Take Care,

Marie

Hey! Guess what? I made a Christmas card! :)

That's right!  A Christmas card!  I'm so glad to finally get back on track in making my Christmas cards...I'm so far behind this year!!  So here is what I made:

The image is from Bugaboo, and the dp is from the "Merry" 6x6 paper pad from MME.  You can't tell in the pic, but the image is backed by some glitter paper, and the bell is colored in with a gold Gelly Roll pen.  I apologise for the washed out look of this picture.  This is the first time I have taken any pics in my *NEW ROOM!*, and I think I will have to experiment more.  The colors are a little more intense in real life.  I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Jingle Belles:  Tie a Holiday Ribbon
Winter Wonderland:  All Tied Up
ABC Christmas Challenge:  Jingle Bells

Thanks for looking, and I hope everyone in the US is having a nice Memorial Day weekend.  Please remember why this holiday exists...

Take Care...

I am asking for some halp!

I have a coworker who requested 15 tea party invitations from me, and I have NO IDEA what to charge for them!  Here is a pic of what they look like:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

An overdue hello, and JB:13:06

Greetings to all my friends out in blog-land!!  I hope you all are doing well, despite how winter seems to be hanging on tightly here in the Northern Hemisphere!  I can't believe it is 9 days until my birthday (and this year, Easter), and the COLD just keeps coming!!  BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Well, I am hoping that Lauren and Stef will be willing to accept my entry into this week's             Jingle Belles challenge, even though I made it right before my craft area in the hallway was dismantled several months ago...  :)

This card didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned it, but I really like how it turned out anyway!  I seemed to be having a love affair with craft and white at the time, as I have a couple of other cards following the same color scheme.  :)
While I'm here, I thought I would also share some pics of my craft room how it looks right now...

The last pic is of "some" of my craft stuff all in a pile right outside of the room...trust me there is more in other places in the house (ie. my older daughter's room!).

Take care until I post again!  :)

Marie

ETA:  I wanna link this up at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long also...Anything Goes.
