July Merry Monday: Part 2!

Eve'nin folks...this is the third time trying to post this, so let's try again:  Here is my second card for the Merry Monday anything goes challenge:
ETA:  I finally am able to link back to the MM challenge, thank goodness!  I used the MS fern punch and a circle base to make the wreath, and the cardinal is a doctored-up version of the bird from the Tim Holtz Caged Bird die.  I've been wanting to make this cardinal for the longest time!  A bluebird is on my list too....  :)  Well, goodnight for now!

Take care,

All white AND an easel card!

Happy Sunday evening, fellow bloggers!  I am here now to share my very first easel card with you:

I made this for the Winter Wonderland challenge for this week.  I was channeling my inner Kittie Caracciolo with this card, I think.  Now mind you, mine is nowhere NEAR the intricacy of Kittie's cards, but I was thinking of her as I used my stylus on the petals and leaves of the poinsettia.  This time I decided to leave it all white, and in doing so, I knew I needed more texture to define the different areas better.  I hope I have done so effectively!  You can't see it in the pic, but I added some glitter to the center with the pearls.  I was debating whether or not to add more glitter to the flower or around the edges of the card, but I haven't as yet.  Being my first easel card, I kept it pretty simple.  I used Labels Eight as my shape, and the Decorative Swirls ef on the next layer for my texture.  A combination of small and large ovals were used for the sentiment, which is from the Vintage Christmas set from The Paper Company.
Well, I hope you all enjoy your week!  I go back to work tomorrow, but have off again Tuesday.  See you soon!

Christmas in July!

Happy Saturday evening, bloggers!  I am here to share a card I made over last evening and today:

I used the Spellbinders poinsettia die, which is the newest die I've purchased.  I decided I wanted my flower to be bigger, so I cut out 5 of the leaves and used them to "expand" the flower.
This card was going to be all white...that's how I pictured it in my head before I started!  But then I wanted to try some sponging, and this is where it got me!  I like this version too.  :)  I have wanted to try making a paper ribbon using a punch for awhile too, so I did that here.  The punch is from MS, but I'm not sure what it's called.  Swiss Dots ef, The Paper Company sentiment, Tea Dye Distress Ink, and scissors to distress some of the paper edges.  So, this card is going into the following challenges:

               Holly Jolly Christmas:  Something New
           Jingle Belles:  Cardstock Christmas
    Merry Monday:  Anything Goes

One more day of my vacation left...sigh.  I don't wanna go back to work!!!!!  LOL

Take care,

~Marie~

Dashing thru the SNOW in a Winter Wonderland

Good Sunday morning, bloggy friends!  I have another Christmas card to share today:

This little cutie is from the 'Tis the Season images set by Whimsie Doodles, found here.  I used 2 dp's from the Bright and Jolly Recollections 12x12 paper pad, Studio 18 red glitter paper, white textured paper, and red and green cardstock from The Paper Company.  The white 5.5 x 5.5 card base and the image circle is GP from Walmart.  The snow is crumbled up styrofoam mixed with glitter, even tho you can't see the glitter in the pic!

I am linking this card up to 3 challenges:  Winter Wonderland, recipe:  3 snowflakes, 2 papers, 1 image;
Holly Jolly Christmas challenge, Dashing through the Snow
CSAYL 22, Sweet Inspiration, (inspired by the colors).

I may or may not have more cards to share soon, if I can figure out how to schedule posts!  :)

Take care,

~Marie~

Inspired by

As all crafty people know, we can find inspiration just about anywhere.  My card today was inspired by my inbox!  Well, more actually by a card in my inbox, made by Tammy Hershberger.  Her card is here.  Isn't it beautiful?  In her comments, I asked if it would be OK to CASE her card.  She said I could!  :)  So, here is my version, inspired by hers:

Of course, I tried to match the colors of the challenge Tammy made her card for as best I could.  I don't have the stamp set she used, so I decided to make my own flowers using the smallest flower on the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  To make the leaves, I cut the daisy-looking flower from the same die.  I used Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint distress inks to color them all.  I added green Stickles to the leaves, and a teeny bit of Star Dust to the edges of the flowers.  You can't really tell, but I added a layer of dryer sheet to the flower before the top layer.  I used some of my large collection of bling to mimic Tammy's placement of enamel dots.  The sentiment comes from the Greetings set from The Paper Company.  The dp is from the Fine and Dandy Girl pad by MME.

Well, I hope everyone likes my version of Tammy's card as much as I liked hers!  Take care!  :)

Merry Monday #68

Hello bloggy friends!  I'm here to share with you my card for this week's Merry Monday #68:

My dp comes from the Bright and Jolly paper pad from Recollections, the red and blue ribbons most likely came from after-Christmas sales at Walmart, and the Studio G sentiment is stamped and embossed on a piece of vellum.  The green cardstock comes from the Botanical collection from The Paper Company, and the red is from the Heritage collcetion.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week, and take some time to check out Lesley's blog and see what the DT has created.  :)

Jingle Belles 13:13, We Wish you a Digital Christmas!

Happy Friday!  Normally I'm not extremely happy on my second day off from work, since I have to work the weekend, but it IS getting closer to my vacation!  :)  THAT is something to be happy about!

Another thing to be happy about is the new prompt over at Jingle Belles:  We Wish you a Digital Christmas.  Stef and Lauren and their special guest this week, Gina Cunningham, are asking us to use digital elements on our projects for this prompt.  And I just happen to have been playing with digi images from Stamp Fairy!  This guy's name is Toby, and can be found here.  Here is my card:

He soooo looks like he is enjoying the snowfall, doesn't he?  :)  Well, I don't feel like boring anyone with any details today, so I'll say goodbye for now!

Take care!
