Another birthday card...

This time for a good friend from college!  We share the same birthday month, so I like to send her a card each year.  This year it is late, but I warned her ahead of time...she was renovating her kitchen too, so she knows what we were going through!  LOL!  Anyway, here is her card this year:

I wanted to play with Distress Inks again, so I grabbed Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, and Mowed Lawn.  I channeled my inner Kristina Werner:  I inked the paper, making sure to blend well in between.  Then I splattered some water droplets on top and dried the paper.  Next, I smooshed each inkpad onto my craft sheet and spritzed them with water.  I grabbed a brush, ran it thru one color at a time, and flicked it onto my paper, making sure to clean the brush in between flickings.  I made a heck of a mess (think ink splatterings all over my palms!), but I had fun, and I love the result!  The words and tag were cut with my Cameo, and that's about all there is to this card!  I really hope Laurie likes it!

I couldn't find any challenges to link this up to, so I hope I'll still get some comments!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Thank you card

I told you I would be back shortly!  Here is the card I want to show you:

This card was made for a very special lady I've gotten to know over the past year at my new job who retired just last week.  I wanted to make sure she knew what an impact she had on me in just a short time!  Obviously her favorite color is PINK, so the color choice was a no-brainer!  LOL!
This is the first time I have used this Darice embossing folder, although I don't know why I waited so long to do so!  I embellished the dots with some Cotton Candy Stickles, added some hot pink cell phone pearl bling, and a butterfly cut from a Silhouette file.  She is also covered in Stickles.  The sentiment (also never before used...you see a theme building here?), is from the set called "Card Crafting Thank You," from The Paper Company.  Cindy really liked her card...she came over and gave me a hug, and said, "Way to go, you made me cry!"  :)

I'm adding this card to Darnell's NBUS #4 as well:

Thanks again for stopping by...it's time for me to hit the hay!

Happy birthday set

Happy Monday bloggers!  We are beginning another week of spring here in PA, but the temps are still a bit chilly...brrr!  I'm popping by really quick to share a set of cards I made for the Activity Committee fundraiser this month at work:

My inspiration for this set came from this card on Pinterest here.  I wanted something I could replicate easily and just change out the colors.  The stamps I used came from the Fiskars set called "Put on your Party Hat."  I added some coordinating Stickles to some of the confetti images.  Also, I used Spellbinder's squares and scalloped squares to cut and mat the images.  That's about it for this set...I hope the person that gets it will like it!

I would like to enter this card set into Darnell's NBUS challenge #4:

I have not before used the little present and confetti images from this set.  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by...I have another card I wish to share here in a little bit, OK?

A Krafty, Starry Christmas

Happy Wednesday bloggers!  I hope all is well with everyone.  Here in the NE, it is still too cooooolllllldddddd for my liking, but that is life in PA, and I wouldn't change it!  This post is not about the weather though:

I made this card last night to take part in a few challenges, and more importantly, to build up my Christmas card stash!  This is card #3 for the year.
The digital image is one of the Emma's from Fred, She Said, found here.  I just love this set of pre-colored digis!  They are so easy to use for "coloring challenged" people like myself!  I just had to root through my cardstock and designer paper collections to find the best matches, and off I went!  I grabbed some of the burlap strings still laying on my desk, and wrapped 3 around the bottom of my panel, and then tied another one in a bow where they intersected.  The sentiment piece was die cut with Spellbinder's ovals and big scalloped ovals.  I found 3 little stars that were left overs from a Silhouette cut file, distressed and Stickled them, and voila, done!

The challenges I am entering are:

Winter Wonderland:  Krafty Creations
Merry Monday #147:  Stars
Crafty Calendar:  Anything Goes

I hope to keep this Christmas card-making train chugging along and be back soon with another post...until then,

Take care, and thanks for looking!

Rainbow birthday

Good Monday evening, bloggers!  I'm here to share with you a birthday card I just finished:

This card was COMPLETELY CASEd from this lovely card made by Laura Bassen.  Oh, I so love what she has done with these dies/digital cut files!!  I used my Silhouette to design and cut out the letters on the popped up white panel.  Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers distress inks were used on the white piece underneath the top layer.  I added the layer of black for some contrast.  My tag is a very old Provo Craft die, and the birthday sentiment is from a set called Happy Everything.  The gem "holding" the tag is a green that matches the yellow and green blended inks perfectly IRL.  I hope my friend will like her card when I give it to her on Wednesday!  :)

Thanks for looking, and take care!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland, Catching Flakes!

Howdy bloggers!  I'm back again this week (twice in one week, I KNOW!!) to share with you only my second Christmas card for the year:

This cutie pie image is from the Fred, She Said store, and is called "Catchin' Flakes." I bought the pre colored version for ease of use.  You can't see it in the pic, but the 3 flakes he's attempting to catch have some Wink of Stella on them.  The designer papers come from the 12x12 Recollections paper pad called Jingle Bells.  The sentiment says, "snow, snow, snow," but you can barely read it unless you're looking up close...sigh.

That's about all for tonight.  I'm adding this to the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland:  For a Child
Holly Jolly:  Non-traditional Christmas colors
CSAYL:  Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, and take care!

Howdy Blogger People!

Long time, no blog!  The kitchen is coming along nicely...all the upper cabinets are installed, and the base cabinets are all in their respective spots, waiting for installation.  It's getting closer!!!  Chad informed me that we can't use it after it's done; just look at it.  LOL

So...I'm here to share with you what I made for Valentine's Day for my coworkers:

Inside each of those pretty little envelopes is a Hershey bar!  I made a total of 12 of these candy bar envelopes with the help of the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board.  Handy tool that is!  All the designer paper came from the 12x12 Filled With Love paper pad by MME , or the 8.5x11 Recollections Craft It-Valentine paper pack.  Super cute paper!  I had a lot of fun making these, and my coworkers really enjoyed them!

That's all I have for tonight...I need to check out some challenges and get some Christmas cards made!  :)

Take care all,

~Marie~
