Stylish stockings

Hello all!  How are you?  Fine and dandy, I hope.  Tomorrow is the 4th of July here in the States, and I hope we all have some fun planned to celebrate our independence.  May Old Glory wave high!

I'm here to share my latest Christmas card:

This card did not turn out as originally planned, but since I made it for a challenge, I had to post it, lol!  I embossed both pieces of the stockings with different folders, and added Stickles to the swirls.  The sentiment that is hard to see in my pic is from Signature Christmas from Papertrey Ink.  The wrinkles on my card are from using Elmer's glue to adhere the foam piece to the cardstock...does anyone have any suggestions on what else can be used??

Challenges:

Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  Christmas Stockings
The Glory of Christmas:  Gifts, or Anything goes
Sparkles Christmas challenge:  Use ribbon, lace, or twine
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
CHNC #235:  Two Words (the sentiment says Happy Holidays)
Winter Wonderland:  All that glitters
CSAYL #50:  Snow or glitter

Thanks for stopping by!

Jingle Belles under the wire!

Just stopping by really quick to add to the Jingle Belles challenge, which is to use no patterned paper:

These 2 were quick and easy to do with this gorgeous "adornment" stamp from Penny Black! These cards were SO quick and easy, I actually made a set of 4!  I just alternated the lighter and darker colored cardstock, the embossing powders, and sentiments for a slightly varied look.  The ink used for the sentiments (Signature Christmas from Papertrey Ink) is Memento London Fog.

I've been drooling over others' cards made with this stamp for years, and finally grabbed one for Christmas last year.  Soooooo glad I did!  Of course, I have plans to make this in gold, silver, green...all kinds of colors!  Here are close ups of each card:

Getting this linked up to:

Jingle Belles:  No patterned paper, aka 12 Days of Cardstock!
The Glory of Christmas:  Gifts, or anything goes
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
CHNC #235:  Two Words (the blue card)
Papertake Weekly:  Take your pick...I chose Pink and/or red

Thanks for stopping by!  Take care!

CASE-ing Christmas #24

Happy Wednesday night all!  The work week is now more than half over...yippee!!  Are there any awesome plans for the weekend out there?  On Saturday, my company picnic will be held at Knoebel's Grove Amusement park.  I can't wait!  I've pretty much been going there all my life, but it's fun now to watch my girls enjoy themselves.  Nowadays, I just enjoy the food...lol!
Well onto business...I'm here to share the card I made for CASE-ing Christmas #24, which is to CASE this lovely card by DT member Rocky:
Isn't this a great card?  I love the Tim Holtz snowman inked up with a music sheet stamp in that shade of blue!  Well, I don't have that Tim Holtz die, but I DO have the embossing folder, so that is the focal point of my card:
To bring in the blue, I used Waterfall Stickles to color the snowman impression.  I couldn't find a suitable stamp in my collection for the "25" element on Rocky's card, so I found a Momenta sentiment that I thought fit the feel of the card.  I added a snowflake button, just as Rocky did on her card.
Challenges:
CASE-ing Christmas #24:  CASE Rocky's card
CHNC Extra:  Anything Goes
CHNC #233:  Snow in June
Creative Card Crew:  White on white
ABC Christmas:  "L" for lyrics ("Do you want to build a snowman?")  ;)
I guess that's all for this evening...please take care of you and yours until next time!

Take it EASEL-y

All I could think of when I would read this prompt for the current Tiddly Inks challenge is the Eagles' song, "Take it Easy."  Not a bad song to hum while working, lol!  But back to the challenge, here is my card for it:

I'm getting this linked next to the last minute, but this card has been sitting on my desk in various stages of completion since I read about the challenge!  I used the Wryn Blooms image, and colored her up using various brands of markers.  The easel card is a file from Bird, found here.  I decided to use some Silhouette flower cut files on the bottom inner layer for something different.  I added Cotton Candy Stickles to the outlines, and then glued them back into place.  I made a button embellishment to hold up the easel portion.  Just a simple "Hi!" sentiment and a gem butterfly, and this is done.

Tiddly Inks:  Take it EASEL-y
Crafty Calendar:  Fancy Folds
Papertake Weekly:  Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!  Please stop in again soon!

CASE-ing Christmas, and Jingle Belles

Good afternoon everyone!  It's Tuesday, but it sure feels like Monday after that long weekend we had here in the USA.  God Bless all those who have served, and those who still serve in our armed forces.  I know I couldn't do what they do!  Thank you!  My Dad served in the Air Force during Vietnam.  I can't imagine what it must have been like for my mother at the time...living with her in-laws, and raising my brother while Dad was gone.  Anyways...

I'm here today to share a card I made yesterday:

This sentiment is from Recollections.  I figured I really needed some stand-alone sentiments for Christmas, so I stocked up this past season.  I spent some time yesterday stamping and embossing this one and another one from Recollections in the many Christmassy embossing powders I have, so that I can throw together some easy cards.  I used Spellbinders Labels Eight to cut it out and mat it, and embossed the edges of the mat to match the image perfectly.  The embossing folder I used on the base is from Darice, and is called Snowflake.  Simple card!

You can also find my card in these challenges:

CASE-ing Christmas:  Challenge #21, CASE-ing DT member Pat's card:

Jingle Belles:  Let it Snow!
The Glory of Christmas:  Challenge #59, Birds or anything goes
CHNC Extra for May:  Anything goes
CHNC #230:  Use die cuts or Punches
Penny Black and more:  Dies and Punches

Thanks for stopping by today!  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Holidays!

I'm back on this now sunny (and WARM) Sunday afternoon with another Christmas card for 2015:

Here's Lenny from Stamp Fairy again, this time sharing a very nice tree with us.  The Stickled tree trio was cut using my Cameo and the 3 Flourished Christmas trees cut file.  The sentiment is from the Signature Christmas set from Papertrey Ink.  Yet again, the dp I used is from the Sugar Plums 6x6 pad from Recollections.  The papers go so well with traditional Christmas coloring, don't ya think?  Here are the challenges where you will also find this card:

I hope you will take some time to check out these challenges, as they always offer great inspiration for Christmas (and other) cards!  Thanks for stopping by, and take care!  :)

A REALLY quick one tonight!

It is past my bedtime, but I was so excited about this card coming together that I HAD to come share it this evening:

Isn't this super duper cute???  I made this card for the challenge at Tiddly Inks:  So Sweet!  I knew I wanted to use this recently acquired digi, Eat More Cake.  Wryn is sooooo adorable!  Along with Mavis, she is my favorite character from the TI lineup.  :)  The mixer card is a Silhouette file I just HAD to have once I finally bought myself a KitchenAid mixer...in this same color too!  Majestic Yellow, to be specific.  :)  I colored Wryn the best I could ( I'm not very good at coloring people).  Her flowers all have some shimmer on the petals, and the icing of the cupcake was topped with Cotton Candy Stickles.  The sentiment is from a random Studio G set.

I'm linking this up to the So Sweet challenge at Tiddly Inks, and maybe tomorrow evening I'll find more to add to.  In the meantime, thanks for stopping by!
