Sasayaki Glitter June Mid-month Inspiration

Hello bloggers, how's it going?  Things are going well here, even though it IS a Monday, lol!  Anyway, here is the card I made for the Sasayaki Glitter reminder post:

This adorable image is Flying FairyI thought she represented the summer theme pretty well, even though the reminder post is anything goes.  I started out by coloring her with alcohol markers, and I wanted to try coloring her hair differently.  I thought on ombre look from yellow to orange would be a nice look, until I was finished...then it just reminded me of candy corn!  Also, when I was coloring her dress, I had a BG15 mishap while adding color to the part of her dress that is between her arms.  I tried to fix it the best I could, but it is still very noticeable.  I wasn't about to start over though!!  I matted the image and background panels with bright orange card stock.  For the sentiment, I decided to cut out part of an oval, and place it underneath the image panel.  Oh yeah, and if you look closely or enlarge the pic, you might be able to see some Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen on the wings.

Challenges:

Fab 'n' Funky:  Bring Me Sunshine
Crafty Gals #167:  Summer Colors

Thank you for stopping by today, and I do hope you will stop by the Sasayaki Glitter blog to check out the DT creations, and the challenge entries!  God Bless!

June CCAYR Christmas Belles DT post---Non-traditonal colors

Hello fellow bloggers!  Happy Friday!  It's June 15th, which means it's time for another reminder post on the CCAYR blog.  The Christmas Belles have created some lovely cards for this month's theme of non-traditional colors.  Here is what I have done:

I was struggling trying to come up with colors to use for my card this month, but then I was watching a YouTube video from Cathy Zielske titled "Love You Bouquet"and inspiration struck.  I loved the colors she used so much, and I thought they would be perfect!  I started by coloring this Paper Nest Dolls Snow Angel image that I think was a freebie in an online magazine.  The background was one that I had sitting on my desk, still in the embossing folder (Sizzix), that I was going to use for some kind of technique.  So, I sponged Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks on the panel, then sprayed on some water and dabbed it off for that popular distressed look.  I decided that the green would be best used as an accent color, so I created a scalloped circle for behind the image die cut circle, and stamped my sentiment on a piece of green as well.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #42:  ATG or optional "Make It Masculine" theme
The Outlawz Monday Greetings:  Use at least one die cut (Spellbinders)
Crafty Gals #167:  Summer Colors (my colors are summery, just not my theme!)

Well, that's all for me!  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all enjoy the weekend!

God Bless!

New "Christmas With The Cuties" Card!

Hello bloggers!  How is your week going?  Mine has been alright.  I was kinda wishing I had taken a vacation day on Wednesday after my alarm went off at 3:50 am though...LOL!

Anyway, I'm here to share my card for the Christmas With The Cuties challenge, Festive Furry Friends:

I couldn't resist using this Barry image from the Stamp Fairy store (sadly, now closed) that I had printed out.  Barry was my favorite character in the store, and I wish I had been able to buy more images before the store closed!  At any rate, I colored him with alcohol markers, using warm grays for his fur, and gave him some darker gray dots (a la Nichol Spohr) for texture.  I colored his hat and scarf to go with the colors of the patterned paper I used, which is called Holiday Magic Snowflakes from The Paper Studio.  It is a 12x12 sheet of paper that I bought several of at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago when they were on sale.  Oh boy, is it gorgeous!!  To accent the strip of patterned paper, I added small slivers of pinky-purple glitter paper to each side.  To add even more glitter, I used some yellow Stickles on the stars, and Diamond Ice Stickles on the snowflakes in the image.

Challenges:

Crafty Creations #367:  ATG
Creative Fingers #147:  ATG
Crimbo Crackers #159:  ATG
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #82:  ATG
Word Art Wednesday #336-#337:  ATG
Little Miss Muffet #190:  ATG
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #470:  Come Play Outside (my guy is decorating outside, hope that counts!)
The Holly and Ivy Christmas challenge #30:  ATG Christmas

Thanks for joining me today!  My younger daughter graduates high school tomorrow, with a job already lined up for after she turns 18 on June 17th.  I am so happy for her!  The only glitch is that she doesn't have a car or know how to drive yet, so my poor hubby will be dropping her off every morning, and then we'll have to pick her up in the evening.  But, one day at a time!

God Bless, and have a good day!

Miss You

I'm back tonight to share a nice bright card with you:

For this card, I used this adorable deer image by Scrapper's Delight that I picked up as a freebie somewhere along the line.  I think it's supposed to be a Christmassy image, but I figure we see a lot of deer around here in the summer, so what the heck?  Both designer papers come from the Doodlebug Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad (again!), and I found a matching yellow card stock in my stash to go with it.  I decided to use a "Miss You" sentiment, because I periodically send cards out to my friends that I used to work with to let them know that I still think fondly of them!

Challenges:

Create and Inspire #74:  ATG or optional Springtime theme
Craftyhazelnuts Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Happy Little Stampers:  ATG with Dies (I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals to die cut the image)
Mix It Up Challenge Blog #13:  ATG or optional emboss resist technique
The Paper Shelter #340:  Digital Image

Well, that's all for this evening.  I hope all of my readers in America are enjoying a long Memorial holiday weekend.  May we always remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can freely celebrate as we do.  Thank you.

God Bless!

Christmas Crafts All Year Round Mid-May DT Inspiration Post

Howdy folks!  It's that time of the month again.  That's right, it's time for the CCAYR Christmas Belles team to dazzle you with our makes for this month's challenge, which is "Anything Goes."  Here is what I created:

This is IMG911, which was a image that Sherri Baldy had offered up as a freebie a few months ago.  When I saw her used on a card with a link to that freebie, I practically *RAN* to the My Besties site to grab her.  I just think she is SO CUTE!!!
I colored her in my favorite blue alcohol marker combo, and then decided to keep the blue going with the rest of the card.  It may not be matchy-matchy, but I still think it looks good.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #41:  ATG or optional "Make it Feminine"
C.R.A.F.T Challenge:  Christmas
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
My Besties International:  ATG or optional "Girls just wanna have fun"
Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  ATG Christmas
Crafting by Designs:  Enjoy the little things
Crafty Gals Corner #165:  Add a flower
CHNC #385:  ATG Christmas or optional "include a tree or 2"

Thanks so much for stopping by this evening!  Make sure to check out the CCAYR blog for this month's challenge, and join in!

Take care and God Bless!

Sasayaki Glitter May Challenge: FLOWERS

That's right it's all about those "May flowers" this month at the Sasayaki Glitter blog!  So let's get right to it, shall we?

I used the adorable Lucy's Flowers image for my card.  The designer paper is again from the Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad from Doodlebug.  Spellbinders Curved Rectangles was used to cut the layers for my card, and....

I made an easel card!  Sometimes I get bored with making regular old rectangular or square shaped cards, so the easel card is an easy way to deviate from the standards.  For my sentiment, I wanted to do that a bit differently also, so I grabbed my Enjoy stamp and die set from Jillibean Soup.

I wanted to use "Enjoy" as my stopper, so I die cut it from white fun foam to glue underneath the stamped image.  Before I glued it down to my base, I used the banner die to cut the Life! sentiment from the same set, and glued it to the bottom of the "j" and "y".  And that was it!

Challenges:

Sweet Stampin':  Flowers
Create and Inspire #73:  ATG or optional use dies or stencils
Outlawz Monday Greetings:  Flowers with some green

That's all for me tonight!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, and I hope you will take some time to stop by the Sasayaki Glitter blog to check out what the other Dt members have created.  Don't forget to check out the gallery too!

God Bless!

Christmas With The Cuties-----Let It Snow!

Howdy crafters!  Sorry my card is so late for the challenge over at the Christmas With The Cuties blog...there was a bit of a mix-up, but all is well now!  Have a look:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Pink Gem Designs

Their images are so cute!  The one I chose to use is Chilly With Birdhouse, and I used the pre-colored version.  I love having a pre-colored version, especially when pressed for time, as I was this month!  LOL!  My sentiment comes from the Merry and Joy stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps.  I was practically drooling over this stamp set when it came out, and this is the first I have ever used it!  Shameful, I know.  The cute designer paper comes from the MME Merry 6x6 pad.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #40:  ATG or optional "Feline Festive" theme
Crafting by Designs:  Getting ready for Christmas
Fab 'n' Funky #391:  Christmas
The Paper Shelter #336:  Die cuts (I used Spellbinders dies to cut out my image and the mat underneath it)
Happy Little Stampers Christmas:  ATG or optional "jolly" twist
Happy Little Stampers:  ATG w/dies
The Cutie Pie Challenge:  Delightful Digis

Well, that is all for this evening.  Thanks so much for stopping by...if you have the time, please also stop by the Christmas With The Cuties blog and check out the other DT creations, and those of the participants!

Have a great weekend, and God Bless!
