O, Little Town of Bethlehem

how still we see thee lie.  Howdy bloggers!  I'm back on the blog, hoping all of my US friends had an enjoyable long weekend.  I know we did!

Here is what I came to share tonight:

This was made with a cut file from the Silhouette Store called Bethlehem silhouette layered a2 card.  It comes with everything you need to make the card, including a frame, but I only cut the building layers, and the sand and sky layers.  Instead of cutting the sky from colored card stock, I used white and distress inked it instead.  I *think* I used Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, and Blueprint Sketch.  To add character to the building layers, I inked them with Frayed Burlap.  The sand layer is inked with Antique Linen.  The Peace sentiment comes from Celebrate the Season from Recollections.  To match the gold glitter paper I used for the star opening, I embossed it using Recollections tinsel embossing powder in gold.  The white "stars" were added with gel pen.  I probably should have added some kind of shading to that doorway, but didn't think of it until afterwards.

Challenges:

The Glory of Christmas #85:  Home of Jesus' birth
CHNC #238:  Use a sentiment
Crimbo Crackers #107:  Anything goes
Christmas Card Challenges #26:  Anything goes or optional color challenge

A few days late, and a couple dollars short...

This seems to be the way I get cards done lately.  I have a great idea for a card that will fit in with a few challenges out there; I start it, but then life gets in my way, and when I come back to it, the challenges are done.  Sigh.  Well, here is the card I speak of:

This card would have been *perfect* for last week's Merry Monday, CHNC, and Winter Wonderland challenges.  In order, they wanted snow globes, pink, and snowmen.  See, PERFECT!  If you are thinking the image looks funny, it's because it's adhered to the inside of the card:

Here's a closer look at the Stamp Fairy image:

I used a Project Life Fuse pocket to contain my shaker materials.  I did not choose to invest in the Fuse tool, though, I just taped the ends shut.

Well, let's see what challenges I can find to add this to:

The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up #17:  Non-traditional Christmas colors
The Glory of Christmas #85:  Home of Jesus' birth or anything goes
Sparkles Christmas #64:  Christmas Cuties
CHNC #282:  Cute or anything goes Christmas
Winter Wonderland:  Non-traditional Christmas colors
52 Christmas Card Throwdown  May Theme:  Little Christmas critters
Snowflakes Promise #22:  Anything goes
Crimbo Crackers #107:  Anything goes
Christmas Card challenges #25:  Anything goes or optional inspiration photo
CHN Patterned Paper:  Anything goes
Crafting for all Seasons #126:  Add some embossing (my sentiment is heat embossed)
Fussy and Fancy #164:  Dies or punches (Spellbinder circle and hexagon dies)
CRAFT #364:  Christmas
Craft your Passion #313: Anything goes

I think I found some...LOL  Thanks for stopping by, and God bless you!

Kraft, woodgrain, and white

Happy Friday bloggers!  I'm back with you today to share another Christmas card for the 2016 stash:

I was greatly inspired by the card that Bonnie Klass did for her Merry Monday design team spot here.
Of course, I didn't want to copy her exactly, so I went off on my own a bit.  As well as being pretty, this is a shaker card as well, so the recipient will have fun making noise with this one!  If you look carefully on the right side of the oval above the second branch, you can see some of the vase filler pieces I used for my shaker.

Challenges:

Merry Monday #204Woodgrain, kraft and white
The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up #17Non-traditional Christmas colors
The Glory of Christmas #84:  Christmas stockings or anything goes
Jingle Belles:  Shake, rattle and roll (interactive cards)
CHNC #280:  Vintage or anything goes Christmas
Crimbo Crackers #106:  Anything goes
Creative Card Crew #112:  Anything goes
Crafting for All Seasons #126:  Add some embossing
Simon Says Monday:  Emboss it
Crafting with Friends #20:  Anything goes
Craft Your Passion #311:  Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you all enjoy your weekend!  Tomorrow is prom where we live and my 17-year-old daughter Laurena is attending with her boyfriend Austin.  It's supposed to rain, but I hope we can still manage to get some decent pictures!

God Bless!
