Merry Monday #127, Christmas Bingo

Happy Sunday afternoon folks!  Wanna get this post done quickly and link it up to the Merry Monday challenge:

Kathy has challenged us to play some BINGO this week, using the above card to play with.  I chose the top row of Sparkle, Pattern Paper, and Emboss.  I have lots of sparkle on my paper bag flowers with my homemade shimmer spray (not that you can see it in this pic!), and the Wink of Stella on my heart, plus some shimmer in the brown ribbon.  The patterned paper is from the K and Company Brenda Walton paper pad, and I embossed the sentiment in sparkle gold powder...not that you can see that either!

Other challenges I'm adding this to:

Festive Friday #40

Hello, and happy Tuesday!  I'm here this evening to share my card for Festive Friday challenge #40, for which this lovely picture is provided for inspiration:

Isn't that a beauty?  What soft yummy colors!  Of course I went with the obvious pink, and the shabby chic-ness of certain items in the photo for my card:

I cut my tree out of white card stock several times and cut the layers apart to add dimension.  Each layer is glued at the top and attached with dimensionals at the bottom to separate it from the next layer.  The doily is a Bird file found here, which I cut out of more patterned paper from the K and Company Brenda Walton 8.5 x 8.5 pad.  Satin ribbon came from the dollar store, half pearls I just bought at A.C. Moore, and pearl string from my stash.  Frayed Burlap and Spun Sugar distress ink used to ink the edges.  I couldn't find a good place for a sentiment, so I guess I'll just have to use one on the inside.  I really like how this turned out!

I'll also add this to:

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday #126, and 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown

Hello fellow bloggers!  This post is coming really late in the day, so I'm going to try to keep it short.  Here is my card:

Due to all the sparkle, this was really hard to get a decent pic!  At least to me, it just looks out of focus...  The JOY cutout is a Silhouette file cut in navy blue, layered on silver glitter paper, layered on black, and then on a white card base.  Simple but striking, I think!

This is going into the following challenges:

Merry Monday:  The Words Have It (focus on the sentiment)
52 {Christmas Card Throwdown}:  Color challenge (red OR blue, black AND white, silver OR gold)

If I find any more challenges later, I will add them then...right now, I'll get these linked up and go to bed!  Thanks for stopping by!  Take care!

Christmas, critters, and snowmen!

Happy Sunday evening all!  Well, Rena's party was a success!  I was keeping the design of the cupcakes I had a friend's daughter make for me a surprise...she used the symbols of Rena's current favorite band on top, and Rena loved them!  YEA!!!  She gave me a couple of hugs during the party, so I guess everything went well!  :)  *warm fuzzies*
Now onto my card for this evening:
I am TOTALLY loving making square cards of late...too bad they won't go thru the mail!    :(  I made this one late last night...I've been wanting to use the acetate sheets I purchased for quite some time now and finally took the time to do so!  The snowflake border is from Memory Box cut out of white glitter paper.  I cut the middle section out of the front of the card and replaced it with a piece of acetate.  The snowman piece is from a 3D tag that Stef of Ingenious Inkling sent me a few years ago after I drooled over these 4 cards she had made using tags she got at Michael's.  Needless to say I WANTED those tags, but by the time I got to my nearest Mike's, they were gone.  Stef was generous enough to send me some tags and shamefully I am just now using one...#NBUS ALERT#...*hangs head in embarrassment.*  Anyhow, I ripped carefully peeled off the 3D part of the tag and used it here.  I like that it comes complete with a sentiment!  :)  I added some of the cutout snowflakes from the Memory Box die cuts to the acetate piece, and this card was complete!
I would like to submit this to the following challenges:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Extra:  Anything Goes (all month)
My buddy Darnell's NBUS challenge; if you don't know Darnell, check out her blog, she's a HOOT!

As always, thanks for stopping by my little 'ole blog and take care out there!

"Silent Night...

Holy Night, all is calm, all is bright."  What a beautiful Christmas hymn that is!  I'm singing it because Hazel of Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge (among others!), is asking for cards that invoke the feelings of a silent night.  Here is my contribution:

I think that snow falling at night is such a quiet, calm experience, so that's what inspired this card.  Also, I think gray is such a calming color.  This is a Silhouette card file, and I cut the inner circle section again in silver glitter paper, and glued it on top of the original cut.  I backed the open area with a piece of acetate for stability.  The tiny sentiment is from the Hampton Arts Seasonal Beauty set, stamped in VersaFine black ink.  The more I look at this card, the more I think I'm gonna add some bling to the closed centers of the snowflakes.  I can see making more of this card in different colors!  :)

I have another Christmas card I would like to share with you:

I was making this one for the Glory of Christmas Challenge, but I missed the deadline...boo!  I really need to pay closer attention to the deadline times of the challenges across the pond!  :(  Anyway, the patterned paper is from Summer Driggs' Winter Gifts digital collection.  The 2 larger silver snowflakes are from a Silhouette file, and the smaller one is a MS punch.  The ribbon came from the dollar store.

Well, I hope all of you are enjoying your weekends!  Tomorrow we are having a birthday party for my older DD, Rena, who turned 16 this past Thursday.  16!!!!!  I can hardly believe the years have flown by so fast!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look...make sure you take some extra time to check out Hazel's other challenge contributors this week!

ETA:  How could I forget Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Extra???  DUH!  Also adding to Paper Creator's Crafts:  Early Christmas, and Craft Your Passion:  Going Round in Circles (for the first card.)  Adding also to Completely Christmas #29:  Anything Goes

ETA AGAIN:  My second card qualifies for Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge too!
