Third post for tonight...another Dustin image!

Okay, here I am with my third post for the evening. This is another image from Dustin that he shared last year. Cute, huh? He is colored with my RoseArt pencils, and as far as the color scheme, I just kinda threw it together...I think it works, but feel free to let me know if you think otherwise! I actually started this card out to be for Karen's SSSC57, but decided against it, even though it still follows the sketch. Ok ya'll, I'm watching Idol...anyone else out there?? So far, I'm not too impressed with anyone, but there is plenty of time for improvement! TOODLES!

Dustin's "Girly Dragon" challenge

Hello! I'm back with post #2 for tonight. This card is for Dustin's latest challenge, to take one of his dragon images and make it girly. I have loved this image since he posted it last year, but this is the first time I have actually used it (WHAT??!?)...I KNOW! In keeping with the theme of the challenge, my version of this dragon is pink. With purple sparkley spots, no less! I hope that is girly enough! The only thing I am really not liking about this card is how I colored the grass...but it is what it is! I used a combo of Sharpies, colored pencils, and Gelly Roll pens to color this she-dragon. The sky was sponged with VersaMark sky blue ink...which I am really happy with! :) Okay, gonna work on that third post now! TOODLES!

My first try...

at Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. This is sketch 57. At first look, I was a bit intimidated by all those "stripes" in the background, but as I looked at other cards in blogland, I thought, "I can do this!" So, here is my attempt. I dug through my papers, and found these, called "Basically Pastel" from Miss Elizabeth's. Then I chose the focal point stamps (Inkadinkado), my ink (Studio G), ribbon and ric-rak from my stash, and finally my sentiment (The Paper Company). I am fairly pleased with my results...I hope some of you are too! I have 2 more cards to post tonight...hopefully! TOODLES!

Cards for Delia and Taylor's 100th sketch!

The card I'm showing today is for both of these events. Dustin created 3 adorable little owls for a sick little girl named Delia...you can read all about it here...I chose to use the painter owl for this card, but I do have the other 2 printed off, ready to color. I colored him with RoseArt colored pencils and Sharpies. I used my circle Nesties to cut him out, and sponged around him with green Studio G ink while still in the die. The sketch I used is for Taylor's 100th sketch challenge...whew that's ALOT of sketches! Congrats Taylor! Here's to many more! Sounds like there may be some serious partying going on over at Taylor's blog...better go check it out! :) Anyhow, it's late, so I should get this linked over at Taylored Expressions, and hit the hay! TOODLES!!

A late quickie...

As I was reading my blog list, I realized that Dustin's challenge was ending today!!! OMGoodness, I had to hurry and get one in there! I chose this adorable squirrel with his mouth full of nuts. I sponged around the edges with The Paper Company ink while it was still in the Labels One Nestie...me thinks I need more practice! The DP is from Target, the punch used on it is Fiskars (I think), and the sentiment is computer generated. The brads are also from Target. Well, time to get it entered...oh and now that I think about it, this also qualifies for Lucy's challenge this week...to use polka dots. They're small, but they ARE there! Thanks for lookin'...TOODLES!!

Hey, can you smell that?

It's the smell of burning rubber...that's right, I'm talking about the first 2010 race of NASCAR! I don't follow it like I did when Terry LaBonte was still driving, but I still pay some attention to it. I can tell you I can't stand Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart...I know I might catch some flack for that statement! Jimmie Johnson is my new fav... :)

Ok, onto today's cards. The first card is a sympathy card for a friend whose mother has just passed on. She had been taking care of her for some time, and was having some difficulty lately. I hope now she knows her mom is at peace. The leaf stamp used is unknown, the sentiment is from Inkadinkado, and the flower is from a lei I bought at Wal-Mart. It started out as white, but I sponged it with some Studio G ink.
My second card is a birthday card requested from my co-worker (the same one that asked for the baby card). This card is for her mother's brithday, which is Valentine's Day. The card I made her last year was geared more toward recognizing the holiday as well as the birthday, but this time I chose to focus on just the birthday aspect. The flower and leaves are FSS, this time jazzed up with LOTS of Studio G glitter glue. I placed them on a green mat cut with Mega Curved rectangles, which has a yellow glitter mat behind it. The sentiment is unknown, and the ink is Studio G.
Thanks for lookin' ya'll! TOODLES!!

A quicky card...

that I made the night before last when Chad reminded me about his parents' anniversary the next day! DOH! I totally forgot...again! I am so terrible about remembering some things...sigh. I used some glitter paper on this one to try and make it special, and this Studio G stamp I found in my stash. I'm hoping there is still time to enter it in Lucy's Glitter challenge...time will tell when I try to post it! :) Until my next post...TOODLES!!

Two cards for two challenges...

both using digis by two wonderful artists! The little "fairy" image is called Little Miss Bitty. Her creator, Tracey, is the owner of the Fred, She Said blog and store. "Bitty" comes in 14 (YES, 14!) different versions, which of course, are all equally adorable! I chose to use the Fairy Dots Flower version for this card. The challenge I made this for is on Tracey's challenge blog. We were to use the colors of the blog page for our inspiration...so I did!

My second card is for the Whimsie Wednesday challenge this week. It was to make a card in another shape besides "the usual". Actually the shape of this card inspired me for my FSS card! This image was a freebie (thanks Melyssa!), and I just find it so cute! It comes with a sentiment too, which I put on the inside of the card..."How EWE doin'? LOL, Isn't that hilarious? I didn't take a piccie of the inside, tho...sorry 'bout that! Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this post, and until next time...TOODLES!
ETA: Took another pic of the FSS card to show the glitter to hopefully enter it into Lucy's Glitter challenge at the last minute! ;)
