Pink and blue Christmas

I'm back again tonight with a quick share since it's close to bedtime, lol:

This cutie is C.C Designs Fuzzy Boot Birgitta.  She's colored with Copics and Prismacolor markers.  I only have a select few colors of Copics, pink and blue being 2 of them!  I used blue and pink cardstock from the Dreamy paper collection from Recollections, and a hearts embossing folder from Spellbinders.  Also from Spellbinders is the Heart Circle die.  A snowflake charm, 3 hearts from the diecut, some Stickles, ribbon, and some bling round this card out.

Challenges:

TTS47:  A Retro Christmas inspiration photo
Papertake Weekly:  Build it up
ABC Christmas Challenge:  "O" for Off the Edge
Winter Wonderland:  How charming

Thanks for stopping by!

One Layer Candles

Good Monday evening to all!  One day down, 4 more to go for this work week...are we all surviving?  Today was a good day for me; I'm hoping for 4 more good days!

Here is the card I made for the current One Layer Christmas Card challenge:

This card looks so much better in person!  I definitely should have just used a colored ink for my crooked sentiment!  :/  The good part about this card is the Glowing Candles die by Memory Box that I used with the inlay technique.  GREAT technique for using a die without adding bulk to your card!

That's all there is to this one...

Challenges:

One Layer Christmas Card #14:  Anything goes w/a twist; candles
CSAYL #51:  CAS (clean and simple)
CHNC Extra for July:  Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #277

It's been a long time since I participated in this challenge, but I thought the sketch was too nice to pass up.  Here is the sketch:

 and here is my card:

Another Barry creation for you!  I had this guy and his bird buddy already printed out, so I just colored, glittered, die-cut, matted, and embellished them.  I'm thinking that I will add a bit o'bling to the center of the snowflake, tho...It's hard to see in the photo, but I did Stickle-ize both layers of the snowflake.  The papers come from the 6x6 Sugar Plums Recollections pad.

Challenges:

CHNC #238:  Spots and/or stripes (dark green dotty paper strip for the spots, and stripes on his hat and scarf)
Sweet Sunday Sketch #277: see the sketch above
The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up:  Anything goes with optional ornament exchange theme
The Glory of Christmas:  Feature a Creature
CHNC Christmas Extra:  Anything Goes
Holly Jolly:  Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland:  Traditional Christmas colors

I guess that's all for today!  Maybe I'll have a chance to get another card started for another challenge or 2...in the meantime,

Take Care,

Doe, a deer, a female deer

LOL, sorry for another lame post title, but it does lead into the card I'm here to share:

OK, so this isn't a doe, but it is a deer!  This gorgeous image is from Wild Rose Studio and is called Reindeer with Baubles.  I picked this stamp after a recent win to shop at the Stamp and Create store.  Thanks Hazel and Lacey!  :)   I stamped him using Versafine Onyx black, and colored him with my Prismacolor markers.  Wink of Stella was added to the ornaments and the bell, as well as to the holly leaves and snowflakes on the sentiment.  It comes from the Filigree Holiday Patterns set from Inkadinakdo.  The white panel was embossed with a lattice ef from Lifestyle Crafts.  The ribbon covering the un-embossed part was from an after-Christmas sale at Walmart.

Challenges:

The Glory of Christmas:  Add an Animal
Sparkles Christmas challenge:  Ribbon, lace or twine
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
CHNC #237:  Deck the Halls
Creative Card Crew:  Die Cuts
Penny Black:  Anything goes with a sentiment
Sweet Stampin':  Christmas in July
Quirky Crafts:  Christmas in July

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

A one-layer card....WHAT???!!!!

LOL!  I don't know if I've ever made a card that is one layer only...if not, here's to this being the first!  Have a look:

Isn't this little guy just so cute??  He is from the Whimsie Doodles company, and can be found in their Christmas Greetings set here.  Melyssa Connolly draws the cutest characters!  I colored him up simply, and added Ice Stickles to the ribbon and bow of the gift.  Although I had originally planned just to have this digi on the card, I decided to add a sentiment in the lower right corner as well.  Just looks better to me!  :)

Challenges:

One Layer Christmas Card challenge:  Anything goes with a twist...use a gift.
Winter Wonderland:  All that glitters
CSAYL #50:  Snow or glitter
The 12 Months of Christmas linkup:  Anything goes or use an ornament
The Glory of Christmas:  Anything goes or use a gift
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
Merry Monday #166:  Penguins
CHNC #236:  Use a sentiment
Crafty Calendar:  Christmas in July
Papertake Weekly:  Anything goes, but they would like to see some Christmas in July!  :)
Quirky Crafts:  Christmas in July
Kitty Bee Designs:  Christmas in July

Well alrighty then!  Thanks for stopping by my blog...have a good evening!

Gray, purple and silver, oh my!

Sorry for the silly title, but I couldn't think of anything wittier...lol!  I would like to share with you my newest Christmas card for 2015:

I am quite happy with how this eventually turned out!  I've been creating the ornament for the last few days...it started life as a tissue box, then with the help of my Cuttlebug, Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments 2012 and  Blossom 5, 2 shades of gray cardstock, silver and purple shimmer paper, the MS fern punch, Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves, MS Punch Around the Page, Memento London Fog ink, some Stickles, Papertrey Ink Signature Christmas, vellum, string beads, bling, and various adhesives (whew!)...I ended up with this!

After taking this picture, I realize I probably should have grabbed a different bottle of Stickles for the flowers, as this one has too much gold in it, but, too late now!  It looks better IRL, trust me!

Challenges:

The 12 Months of Christmas Link up: Holiday traditions, ornament exchange
CSAYL #50:   Snow or Glitter
The Glory of Christmas:  Gifts or anything goes
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
Jingle Belles:  Silver Bells; silver or bells, or both
CHNC #236:  Include a sentiment
Winter Wonderland:  All that glitters
Crafty Calendar:  Christmas in July
Papertake Weekly:  Take your pick...Technique challenge...tissue box (chipboard) ornament
Ooh-la-la #184:  All that glitters

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop in!  Have a crafty week!

Stylish stockings

Hello all!  How are you?  Fine and dandy, I hope.  Tomorrow is the 4th of July here in the States, and I hope we all have some fun planned to celebrate our independence.  May Old Glory wave high!

I'm here to share my latest Christmas card:

This card did not turn out as originally planned, but since I made it for a challenge, I had to post it, lol!  I embossed both pieces of the stockings with different folders, and added Stickles to the swirls.  The sentiment that is hard to see in my pic is from Signature Christmas from Papertrey Ink.  The wrinkles on my card are from using Elmer's glue to adhere the foam piece to the cardstock...does anyone have any suggestions on what else can be used??

Challenges:

Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  Christmas Stockings
The Glory of Christmas:  Gifts, or Anything goes
Sparkles Christmas challenge:  Use ribbon, lace, or twine
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
CHNC #235:  Two Words (the sentiment says Happy Holidays)
Winter Wonderland:  All that glitters
CSAYL #50:  Snow or glitter

Thanks for stopping by!

Jingle Belles under the wire!

Just stopping by really quick to add to the Jingle Belles challenge, which is to use no patterned paper:

These 2 were quick and easy to do with this gorgeous "adornment" stamp from Penny Black! These cards were SO quick and easy, I actually made a set of 4!  I just alternated the lighter and darker colored cardstock, the embossing powders, and sentiments for a slightly varied look.  The ink used for the sentiments (Signature Christmas from Papertrey Ink) is Memento London Fog.

I've been drooling over others' cards made with this stamp for years, and finally grabbed one for Christmas last year.  Soooooo glad I did!  Of course, I have plans to make this in gold, silver, green...all kinds of colors!  Here are close ups of each card:

Getting this linked up to:

Jingle Belles:  No patterned paper, aka 12 Days of Cardstock!
The Glory of Christmas:  Gifts, or anything goes
CHNC Extra:  Anything goes
CHNC #235:  Two Words (the blue card)
Papertake Weekly:  Take your pick...I chose Pink and/or red

Thanks for stopping by!  Take care!
