Happy Sweet 16!

I'm back on this beautiful Sunday to share with you the card I made for my younger daughter's 16th birthday, which was on Friday.

Here's the birthday girl!

She just had her hair colored purple, (yes, purple!) as part of her birthday present, and today we are going to see Finding Dory at our local theater.  Her party was yesterday at the state park where my husband works.  I hope she had fun this weekend!

Now, here's the card:

Of course, it's a shaker!  Her favorite color is blue, hence the color choices.  The owl and the card base are both Silhouette cut files.  You can find the owl here, and the card here.  Now that I'm looking, there are some other cute owls I should get...lol!  I added a generous amount of Wink of Stella to the owl and to the words on the card.  If you look at "happy," you can see glimpses of it on the first "p" and the "y."  She enjoyed her card!  *whew!*

It's the middle of the month again!

You know what that means, right?  We're even CLOSER to Christmas!  *BIG SMILE*  :)  It also means that the DT at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Extra have some mid-month cards to help you keep your mojo flowin'.  Here's mine!

This cutie patootie image is from the talented Tracey over at Fred, She Said.  She comes from the set called Emma The Caroler Pre-Coloured SetI love Emma!  So pretty!  This set comes in 8 different colored versions, which are all perfect!  I really need to print more of these out and make a set of cards!  I kept the layout really simple, to keep all eyes on Emma.  The white panel beneath the image layer is embossed with a Darice snowflake folder, but I forget which one.  The sentiment comes from Papertrey Ink's Signature Christmas set.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #18:  Anything goes or optional silver/gold theme
The Glory of Christmas #86:  Anything goes or optional no patterned paper theme
Sparkles Christmas #65:  Use 2 (or more) dies

Happy Saturday!

Howdy bloggers!  I hope you are enjoying your Saturday, whatever you are doing, and wherever you happen to be!  We went to a local community day celebration this morning, dropped the girls off for their cousin's graduation party, and came home to relax before heading out again later for supper with a friend.  But for now, I'd like to share a cute birthday card with you:

I made this (at the last minute) yesterday, for my friend's birthday.  I always tease her that now she's back to being older than I am, lol!  This cute image is from All Dressed Up, and she can be found here.  She is a freebie, so why don't you go check her out and maybe pick up a few cuties?  I didn't really do a whole lot to this card; I mainly concentrated on the coloring.  I added some Stickles to the balloon, and the white panel is embossed with the Darice Flower Frenzy folder.  The sentiment stamp is from The Paper Company set called Happy Birthday.

Challenges:

All Dressed Up #56:  Anything goes using an ADU image
Sweet Stampin':  Lots of layers (3 or more)

CHNC Extra June Design Team Post

Well, finally I'm getting around to posting my card for Craftyhazelnut's Extra DT:

As usual, with Bugaboo as our sponsor, we are using Bugaboo images for our first-of-the-month cards, and this one is called Snowman CoupleAren't they adorable? The quality of my picture is horrible...I think I figured out why.  I was always setting my camera to the macro setting, which picks up fine details.  It sure didn't make my pics look good though.  :(
The blue part of my card is a Silhouette cut file called Christmas Snowflake Border Edge Card, by Lori Whitlock.  I think this cut file is gorgeous!  The white layer underneath is white/gold shimmer card stock, and so is the scalloped circle.  You can't tell this in the pic, but the image is actually on the inside of the card.  I don't do this simple technique often enough!  The sentiments are from Studio G.

Challenges:

Sparkles Christmas #65:  Use two (or more!) dies(Spellbinders circles and petite scalloped circles)
CHNC #283: Use a sentiment
52 CCT21-16 May Stash challenge:  Use dies and/or punches
ABC Christmas: K is for "kissing"
Christmas at Sweet Stampin': Winter Fun (kissing is fun anytime, lol)
Christmas Card Challenges #26:  Anything goes or optional color challenge
HIMCR #252:  Any Holiday
Fussy and Fancy #164:  Dies/and or punches
Die Cuttin' Divas #268:  Anything goes
Silhouette Challenges#38:  Anything goes

Don't forget to check out the other design team members' creations and leave them some love!  Also, if you enter, you could win $21 in Bugaboo digi stamps!  I wanna see your creations linked up over there! Thanks for stopping by, and God bless!

Whimsie Doodles Cutie

Good Wednesday morning, bloggers!  I hope you are enjoying your week...we're at the midpoint now!  I would like to show you this Christmas card today:

This cutie is Santa Leah from Whimsie Doodles.  I admit, she has been waiting around, uncolored, for quite some time now.  I know, I know; how could I be so mean to poor Leah?  I hope she can forgive me, since I gave her center stage on the card!  The adorable designer paper isn't designer paper at all...it's the top panel of a tissue box.  I usually don't use the top section, due to the hole, but I figured it would be well covered in this case.  The blue mat behind it was originally going to be red, but I had that blue laying out on the desk, and when I tried it, it matched perfectly with the blue in the design.  LOVE it when that happens!

Challenges:

The Glory of Christmas #85:  Anything goes or Home of Jesus' Birth
Sparkles Christmas #65:  Use two (or more) dies (Spellbinder's Big Scalloped Ovals, and Large Ovals)
Holly Jolly #73:  Traditional Holiday colors
