Christmas With the Cuties---BEGINNING WITH B---February 2019

Howdy all!  I hope you are all well.  Here in Pennsylvania, we are experiencing very high winds.  At my job today, we had some power, but not enough to actually do any work, plus we had no heat.  We sat there until 9:45, when we were allowed to go home.  Luckily, we will still get paid for an 8-hour day!  And the boss brought us Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts, which was very nice.

So anyway, I am here today to share with you the Christmas card I made for the current Christmas With The Cuties challenge:  BEGINNING WITH B.

My card actually contains 3 Bugaboo images that I merged together; Snowman Broom, Snowman Jingle Bell, and Snowman Bells.  I just thought these guys would look cute in the same scene, LOL!  Luckily, merging these images meant that I have quite a few B's on my card:  my BLACK layer, BLUE, BOWS, BELLS, BIRD, and BROOM.  Looking at it now, I suppose I could have also added BRIM, for the top hats.  I colored these handsome fellas with alcohol markers, added some Star Dust Stickles to the snow on the ground, and also in some spots on the snowmen.  To make the bells sparkle too, I went over them with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.

CHALLENGES:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #50:  ATG or optional "penguin power" theme
ABC Christmas:  C for Candy, or D for Decorations (we use bells to decorate with, right?)
Di's Digi Challenge:  Include an Animal (see the tiny bird?)
Fab 'n Funky #428:  Christmas
CHNC #426:  ATG Christmas, or use some gold option
Jingle Belles:  All the Glitters
Winter Wonderland:  ATG, tribute to Eileen
Papercraft challenge #31:  All the Critters

That will be all for now, friends!  Please do stop by the Christmas With The Cuties blog and join in on the BEGINNING WITH B fun!

Take care, and God Bless!

CCAYR FEBRUARY 2019 MID-MONTH DT INSPIRATION

Howdy bloggers, I hope you are all doing well.  Things are moving along just fine here in PA, but I will be glad for some warmer weather in the next few months, that's for sure!  Until then though, how about a nice Christmas card for our CCAYR theme this month:   CAROLS AND SONGS?

My apologies for the paleness of my photo. I have been experimenting taking pics with my phone instead of always setting up my hubby's fancy camera, but I think I may go back to using the camera and tripod.  Anyhow, this image is from Fred, She Said Designs, and is called Emma the Caroler, pre-colored version.  I just love using this image, especially since I don't have to worry about any coloring!  I had the digital purple striped paper lying around forever (which I think may even be from FSS also), so I used that behind my image panel.  The scalloped rectangle was cut from Recollections card stock, and all 3 of these layers were die cut using Spellbinders dies.  The purple snowflake paper comes from the Northern Lights 12x12 Recollections paper pad I picked up during this past Christmas season at Michael's.  It is GORGEOUS paper; the snowflakes are an iridescent silver, which I tried to capture in this photo:

I think you can somewhat see it.  The sentiment comes from the PTI Signature Christmas set, which uses the beautiful handwriting of the wonderful Dawn McVey.  If you haven't heard of her, or her inspiring story, you REALLY should check it out.  I follow her on Instagram @dawnsing, and it really is a joy to listen to her stories on a daily basis.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up:  ATG, or optional penguin power theme
CHN Patterned Paper February:  ATG using patterned paper
Mix it Up #22:  ATG or optional rubber band stamping technique
The Paper Shelter #370:  Letters and/or Numbers
CHNC #425:  ATG
Jingle Belles:  All That Glitters (shiny or sparkly) (see close up of my snowflake paper)
Winter Wonderland:  ATG, tribute to Eileen challenge
Outlawz Monday Greetings:  Girl, Woman, Beauty
Outlawz Twisted Thursday:  ATG or optional flowers twist

Well, I guess that's all for now folks.  Please stop by the CCAYR blog to check out the challenge, and join us in the CAROLS AND SONGS fun!

Take care, and God Bless!
