Merry Monday # 38

I'm back again, as promised, with my Merry Monday card for this week.  Here is the sketch:

     And here is my card:

As you can see, I stuck to the sketch like glue!  I began my take on it by picking out the cute dp, which comes from the Merry 6x6 pad from MME.  Green and snowmen, my favorite combo!  The stamped elements are all from Studio G.  The green ink is Memento Pear Tart and the red is a dark red from The Paper Company.  I added little red gems on every other snowflake circle for a little extra sumpin' sumpin'.  Hehehe!

I'd also like to add another card that I made based on last week's sketch:

I started this one before the deadline, but didn't get it finished until afterward.  I just thought I would post it here, cuz I think it's cute.  The image is a pearlescent sticker I got "eons" ago at the Dollar Tree, and the sentiment is Studio G.  I decided to try adding funky yarn to the end where the scalloped edge was in the origianl sketch.  What do you think of it?

Well, I guess that's enough for this post.  Take care until next time!

And now, it's time for The CREATURE FEATURE, sponsored by Jingle Belles!

Happy Friday bloggy friends!  I have had yesterday and today off, and it's been GREAT!  Kids in school, hubby at work, QVC and DIY Network on the tv...ahhh, HEAVEN!  I hope you all are enjoying the end of your week!

So onto my card for this week's Jingle Belles challenge.
I guess this would be considered more of a guy's card, even though the deer is a bit "fancy."  I picked this deer up at Michael's last week, along with some snowflakes and snowmen.  They are all felt ornments that come in a set of 3 for $1.00!!  Can't beat that!  I wanted to keep it pretty simple, so I just sprayed a doily with some green and copper shimmery spray, and squeezed the sentiment in between the antlers and the rear of the

The dp is from a small pack I got at Joann Fabrics last year maybe?  I thought it looked fairly masculine in nature.  So, that is my Creature Feature card for this week.  I'm not sure if I'll get another one made or not, we'll see.  I will be back in a bit though, with my Merry Monday card for this week.

See ya in a bit!  :)

Merry Monday 37

Hello again bloggy friends!  I am here today to share with you my Merry Monday card for this week:

The DT cards this week were so inspiring to me!  I just loved them all.  :)  I decided to use a Martha Stewart Christmas set that WalMart sold a few years ago.  I don't know the name of it though, as that was before I labeled my sets.  I'm hoping that the sentiment is visible on the cork...I can see it pretty well on the card itself!  The dp is from Mrs. Claus' Kitchen stack from this paper pad!  I gave the gingerbread men some piped icing with dimensional fabric paint.  They look good enough to eat!  The ink is Memento Rich Cocoa.
I guess that's all there is to say about this one.  I hope you all have a great weekend!  My grandmother's surprise 90th birthday party is tomorrow evening, so that's what we'll be doing.  How 'bout you?  Take care until next time!  :)

I'm thinking 'bout you?

Hello my bloggy friends!  I hope all is well with you and yours.  Things are fine here in our homestead.  My post today is to contribute my pink cards  (at the last minute, mind you...) to the Jingle Belles challenge for this week.  Last year, Stef and Lauren donated $75 to the Susan G. Komen fund based on all the cards submitted for the challenge.  Well, this year they are doing the same thing, except that they are donating $2.00 per card.  Here are mine, 3 total:

OK, now that I've gotten them linked up, juuuuuust under the wire, let me finish my post.  LOL  As you can see they are all the same, except that I used 3 different shades of pink ink.  All the Build-a-Flakes edges are distressted with the same ink and then glittered with various pinks that I have.  I used dimensional tape in between the layers.  These cards are all 5.5" square.  I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna make envelopes for them...anyone have any suggestions for me?  Well, I'm off to check out the other entries for the challenge.  Take care!

Peace on Earth

Happy Thursday, bloggy friends!  I'm happy it's Thursday beacuse I have off today, work tomorrow, and then have off the weekend to attend the Covered Bridge festival at Knoebel's Grove.  They do it every fall, and it's chock-full of crafty vendors, and FOOD!  I have yet to see any card makers there though!  What weekend plans do you have?  :)

So, onto the reason I created this blog, showing my cards!  Here is one I created using a Meljen's Designs image, Christmas Star Snowman.  I had intended this to be for the second week of the current Jingle Belles challenge, but evidently I need to keep a closer eye on my calendar, as it is over!  duuhhhhhh!  LOL!  Ah well, if one cannot laugh at oneself, what can one laugh at?  :)
I have checked over at Meljen's challenge blog however, and this will fit right in, as this week's challenge is Anything Goes.  Perfect!  I'd been wanting to try this design for awhile now, with the dp peeking thru an opening in the front of the card.  I embossed the cardfront with the Swiss Dots ef from Spellbinders, and used foam tape to adhere the image and the sentiment.  It's not evident in this pic, but the image itself is really sparkly, as I added Stickles to the fluffy parts of the hat, and used a clear Stardust pen over all the lines of the snow and snowman.  The star is sparkly too with some glitter glue, and a gold Stardust pen on the lines.

Well, I guess that's all there is to say.  Have a great day, and take care until next post!
