Merry Monday #30

Hello my bloggy friends!  I hope you are all doing well!  Above, you can see the current Merry Monday sketch, number 30.  For those of you already following this challenge, you have seen the FAB entries and DT samples; but for those of you who don't, you better get over there and check them out!  :)  AWESOME!!  And now here is my stab at the sketch:
This is my first time using seam binding.  I had fun dying it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, although I didn't exactly get the pieces to match each other.  I also used Spun Sugar to ink my snowflake ef before embossing, but my paper musta moved while running it thru my CB, cuz the ink is a bit "off" in some places.  My image is from StampFairy

I originally planned on adding this card to another challenge that required the use of non-traditional colors, BUT I missed the deadline...sigh.  I have not missed being able to add it to this week's Winter Wonderland challenge, which is "walking in a winter winderland."  AND I made it waaaay in time for Merry Monday!  LOL

Take care until next time!  :)

Some sparkle, and a miss!

Hey Carol, this one's for you!  I took your suggestion after creating THIS card, and did a version in blue.  This time I *may* have gone overboard with the swirls, but I still like this version too.  Here is a close-up of the sparkle on the flake:
At least I tried to capture the sparkle...it really looks awesome IRL!

And now for the miss:
as in I missed entering it in the last Merry Monday challenge by thiiiiiis much!  I had the card finished, but never got around to getting it posted to the blog.  sigh...but I really liked it, so I decided to post it anyhow.  The dp and purple cardstock are from a Recollections set I got at Michael's, while the stamped mittens and sentiment are Studio G.  I colored some clear bling to match and added some sparkle to the mittens with a Sakura pen.

Well, I suppose that is all for tonight.  Work beckons tomorrow (yuck), so I'll get to posting...take care until next time!  :)

Merry Monday 29...

Hello bloggy friends!  I'm here to share my card for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  Here's the sketch:
At first I wasn't sure I would be able to "do" this sketch, but I think I came up with something passable!  The image is from Stamp Fairy, a freebie from some time ago.  Currently, Stamp Fairy is sponsoring the Pile it On challenge, which is Cuddly Critters.  It's a good thing Gerda, the owner of Stamp Fairy, is excellent at drawing cuddly critters!  I know most of you are probably familiar with the Pile it On goal of combining several challenges in one card, so I am also going to enter this one in Winter Wonderland's current challenge of "red and green should be seen."  I think three is my limit for this card!
Well, onto posting, and linking up to challenges!  Take care until next time...

JB:12:17, Oh Christmas Sketch

Well, hello bloggy friends!  I am here to show you my take on this week's Jingle Belles challenge which is this sketch, created by the awesome Stef!

And here is my interepretation:

I had the snowflake already done on my desk, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  Well, when I saw the sketch and what Lauren and Stef had done with it themselves, I just HAD to add more "schtuff" to my already purty snowflake.  I hope that it isn't perhaps TOO much "schtuff"!  The panels behind the snowflake were embossed with the Snowflake Embossiblities plate by Spellbinders.  While still in place, I sponged over top with Antique Linen.  When I was satisfied with it, I then sprayed it with my own shimmery spray in Champagne.  It looks real purty when moving it around in the light!  The three "shiny sticks" at the top of the snowflake are glitter covered toothpicks.  Don't they just remind you of rock candy?  I thought my flake needed something else up top, and that is what I came up with.  So, final opinion...is it too much?

Well, I guess that's enough description about this card.  I'll get it linked up over at Jingle Belles.  Please make sure you check out the other entries too!  :)  Take care!

As promised...a card! :)

Hello, bloggy friends!  I have finally gotten around to participating in the Merry Monday challenge I have been following for some time now at Lesley's blog, Always Playing with Paper.  I always managed to just miss entering...I would have the card done, but never get around to photographing it!  Well, not this week!
I'm not sure how much I like my final result.  The sketch was great to work with, but I'm just not sure about my choice of materials.  I followed my friend Janet Kay's lead and used some glitter paper on my card too, just as she did this week!  Thanks for the inspiration, Janet Kay!  Speaking of my materials, the pretty ornament is a rub on I got at Ben Franklin a couple of years ago.  I inked around the rub on with Memento Lady Bug ink.  I used that ink for the sentiment as well.  The snowflake paper and red base is from a cardstock set I got at Michael's some weeks ago.
Well, I suppose that's all I have to say about my entry.  I'm gonna go have a look at the rest of this week's entries...how bout you?  Until next time, take care!

HELLO!!!!

Hiya all my bloggy friends!  Long time, no post!  Seems like my mojo takes a flying leap when summer starts, but I have been having some crafty fun, and of course, buying some more supplies.  Because a crafty gal can NEVER have enough supplies!  :)  Lately, I have been playing with snowflakes.  Specifically the Spellbinders 1 and 2 build a snowflake die sets.  I have had these for a year or two, but have just now started playing with them.  What fun!  Mine don't seem to cut thru felt as well as I had hoped they would, but with some patience and my scissors, I succeeded!  I am planning (hoping) to soon post a card possibly made with one of my creations.  I have been enjoying reading all the blogs I follow during my hiatus, and they were always inspiring!

Well, I should close now and get back to my desk to see what may develop in the next few minutes before bed...g'nite, and sleep tight!  :)

ABC CHRISTMAS -- E IS FOR EMBOSSING, F IS FOR FAUX, G IS FOR GINGERBREAD

Hello crafty friends!  I'm dropping by really quickly to share what I created for this month's ABC Christmas challenge , which is ...
