Happy Birthday!

Hello friends!  I hope you are all doing well.  Can you believe we are halfway through the first month of 2019 already?  Time just flies by anymore.  Anyway, I would like to share with you a birthday card I made for a friend:

I was inspired to make my card the way I did by a recent YouTube video of Ashley Tucker's.  I loved the simplicity of the layout of the card she made, and thought it would translate perfectly to this birthday card.

I chose the cardstock color based on the swirly on the bottom layer of the cake (Miss Kate's Cuttables), and cut the scalloped rectangle frame using Spellbinders dies out of white cardstock.  The sequins come from Michael's kids section.  I used one layer of 3M foam tape to construct my shaker, but I wish I had used 2 so the sequins would move more freely.  Next time!

Challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas:  Birthday (Spellbinders dies to make the frame)
Cute Card Thursday #565:  Banish the Blues
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday:  ATG or twist to use layers

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a great rest of the week (tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!).  We are set to get hit with 2 snow storms this weekend, so it should be getting interesting around here.

Take care, and GOD BLESS!

CCAYR January 2019 mid-month inspiration

Hello all!  I am here to share with you a card I made for the CCAYR challenge this month, which is "Let it Snow":

I used a piece of *GORGEOUS* wrapping paper that I acquired this past Christmas at the work gift exchange.  One of my close work friends also participated, and she used this wrapping paper, which I was drooling over as soon as I saw it.  I was lucky enough to draw the number that her package was assigned the day before, so I was very happy!!  :)  I had the snowflake embossed panel lying on my desk for awhile, and decided this was the perfect card to use it on.  I inked the edges of the panel with Broken China Distress Oxide ink, and after I mounted the image panel with fun foam, I also ran some Star Dust Stickles around the edges with my finger.  In case you are wondering about the washed out look in the picture, the card looks a lot more saturated IRL.

Challenges:

Jingle Belles:  No Time Like the Presents (use wrapping paper)
Happy Little Stampers Christmas:  ATG or option to use reindeer
ABC Christmas:  "A" for ATG, or "B" for berries
CHNC #420:  ATG or option to use any animal
Sparkles Christmas:  Add some Sparkle
Winter Wonderland:  It's Snowtime!
Simon Says Monday:  Recycle something
Outlawz Festive Fridays:  Christmas
Card Mania #112:  Baby, It's Cold Outside
Craft Rocket #55:  Winter
The Paper Nest Dolls:  ATG
Digi Design Challenge:  Snow Much Fun

Thanks so much for joining me this evening.  I hope you will drop by over at the CCAYR blog, and join us in creating snowy things!

God Bless!
