BUGABOO FREEBIE FRIDAY---CP PLATTER

Hello fellow bloggers and crafters, and Happy Friday!  We have really been having some wild weather here in PA, but it hasn't been as bad as it has been in the mid-western states.  Prayers go out to all those who are suffering the effects of these crazy storms.

Last night, the hubby and I had to take the long way home due to a power line being down on the road just up from our house.  Fire police wouldn't let us through, but we had to get home and let the poor dog out!  Thankfully, the long way around wasn't blocked at all, although there were some nice sized branch pieces lying about.  Well, anyway, how about looking at another Christmas card for my stash?

My card features this week's Bugaboo Freebie Friday image, Chef Pierre Platter.  I was wracking my brain on how I could use this guy, as I couldn't find any patterned paper that I thought was suitable.  The only food-related paper I have is Christmas-themed, so that's the direction I took.  And I can always use another Christmas card for this year, right?  I took the liberty of turning Chef Pierre to the right instead of the left, because I thought he would look strange facing away from the cookies.  He's colored in the usual way, using alcohol markers, and the sentiment comes from the Sweet Christmas stamp set from The Paper Company.  The delicious-looking patterned papers I chose come from the Sugar Plums 6x6 Recollections paper pad, and the card is 5.5" square.

CHALLENGES:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #53:  ATG or optional creature feature
CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
The Holly and Ivy #50:  ATG Christmas

Hello again, fellow bloggers!  I'm back today to share with you this card that I made for Oldie But Goodie day at Catch the Bug:

My card features Poppi Xmas Tree Poppi is my all-time favorite Bugaboo character!  He is just so cute, and he's easy to color, which makes it nice.  LOL  I colored Poppi with alcohol markers, and added some sparkle with gel pens and Stickles.  The patterned paper comes from the Merry MME 6x6 paper pad.

CHALLENGES:

CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Winter Wonderland:  Anything but a square card

BUGABOO HUMOR ME WEDNESDAY -- WORLD TURTLE DAY!

Hello fellow crafters!  I hope you are doing well, and that this week is being good to you!  Things have been a bit hectic in my household the past couple of weeks.  The place where I work bought all new (smaller) desks for us to work on, and were selling off the old desks.  I managed to buy one of these desks, which is 6 feet long, and my hubby and I have been working on replacing my old craft desk with the new one.  It's been a slow process between regular life and such, and my hubby needing to get his garden planted.  The desk is in place now, I just need to get everything back into the room.  So, I apologize for the delay in my post for Bugaboo Humor Me Wednesday.  Here is my card:

Ain't this turtle adorable?  I think I say that about all Bugaboo images, but it's TRUE!!  This image is called Turtles - Rain, and it is so sweet.  I colored the image using alcohol markers.  I chose some colorful patterned papers from Doodlebug and Lawn Fawn to go with the image and my coloring.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps, and the inside says, "Take the time to celebrate the little things."  I thought it went well with this turtle enjoying himself in the rain.

CHALLENGES:

CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Love To Craft #34:  ATG (4/5)

That seems to be all for tonight, folks.  Thanks for stopping by, and make sure you also stop by Catch the Bug to see what the other DT members have created.

Take care, and God Bless!

BUGABOO SATURDAY CHALLENGE -- SCHOOL'S OUT/TEACHER APPRECIATION

Welcome crafty friends!  It's Saturday, so we have a new challenge for you over at Catch the Bug:  School's Out/Teacher Appreciation.  Here is the card I have made for the challenge:

Teachers really do deserve so much of our appreciation, don't they?  They do lots to shape our future in the form of educating our children.  And these days, sadly, it seems that they do so at great risk, and for little money.  With this in mind, I created this simple "thank you" card using the Thank You Tulip Block image.  I asked my work friends what colors to use for the flowers, and they suggested orange and yellow.  The rest of the card is all in yellow, with the base layer coming from an ombre paper pad, the patterned paper from a K and Co. pad, and the yellow square under the image from my huge stash of Recollections card stock.  The image itself was colored with alcohol markers.

CHALLENGES:

CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Love to Craft #34:  ATG (3/5)
613 Avenue Create #221:  ATG or optional make a shaker card (2/8)
The Paper Shelter #382:  Color It! (2/2)
Crafty Sentiments:  ATG (2/3)
Papercraft Challenges #36:  For Women and Girls

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoy your weekend, and find some time to stop by the Catch the Bug blog and join in the challenge fun!

BUGABOO HUMOR ME WEDNESDAY -- EAT WHAT YOU WANT DAY, AND HOSTESS CUPCAKE DAY

Well hello, crafty friends!  How are you doing?  I hope all is going well in your parts of the world.  Did you know that today is Eat What You Want Day, AND Hostess Cupcake Day?  I think I have found myself another holiday to embrace, how about all of you?  ;)  Here is the card I have made for this grand day:

I know, you almost need sunglasses for this card, it's so bright!  I have a friend at work whose favorite color is orange.  Her car is orange, her kitchen is painted orange, and she has orange dishes.  That might not be all of the orange in her life, but it is all I know of ATM!  LOL!  I hope she will like her birthday card...it is pretty simple, but I did try to add some special touches.  This image is called Cupcake Word Block.  The icing and the polka dots on the wrapper have clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen on them, and the orange square is made from a textured card stock.  To break it up some, I added that white ribbon across the middle, and tied a knot around it.  It was secured with some Aleene's Tacky glue.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS ALL YEAR ROUND -- ORNAMENTS AND BUGABOO HUMOR ME WEDNESDAY - BIRD DAY

Hello, crafty friends!  I hope all is well with you.  Things here are going just fine.  I'd like to share with you the card I have made for the current CCAYR challenge:  ORNAMENTS, which also happens to work for the Humor Me Wednesday post at Bugaboo.  May 4th is Bird Day.  Who knew?

My card features the adorable Bugaboo image, Ornaments Penguin.  I LOVE HIM!  Honestly, I really haven't found a Bugaboo image I don't like.  :)  I had this guy all colored up to match that patterned paper from the 6x6 Winter Whimsy pad from Love Nicole.  I added some white puffy paint to the brim and pompom of his hat for some fun texture.  The snowflake die going across the top doesn't have a name, but I did get it from Hobby Lobby.  I added a white layer underneath the card stock layer so it would stand out more from the patterned paper.  Each snowflake center has a rounded gem in the middle.  The die cut sentiment comes from Tim Holtz, and I added some clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the top 3rd layer of each word.  There is also a bit of White Blizzard Nuvo drops on the penguin and the snow in the image.

CHALLENGES:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #53:  ATG or optional Creature Feature
CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Mix It Up #25:  ATG or optional mixed media
Winter Wonderland:  Cute Christmas

Thanks so much for stopping by again.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit, and please be sure to visit us over at the CCAYR blog, and the Catch the Bug blog for more inspiration!
