I'm on a ROLL tonight! Merry Monday #72:

Here is the sketch for this week's Merry Monday #72:

A great sketch that can either be made simple or elaborate!  Here is my card:

I used a Digi Stamp Boutique freebie (that I will link back to later), and recessed him behind the panel...something I have been wanting to do for awhile now.  For the vertical element of the sketch, I used a simple piece of white ric rac.  Obviously, this is another card featuring Rudolph, based on the bright red Gelly Roll nose!  :)  I hope Lesley doesn't mind that my sentiment is part of the main image, instead of below it!

Well, since it is now 12:45 AM on Friday, I should get to bed...but maybe I'll just check out *one more* challenge!  :)

Take care,

Getting this in under the wire...

at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long!!  I was checking out what the challenges I follow had in store, and this was what  CSAYL provided me with:

A very Christmassy inspiration photo!!  Then when I looked to see if the collection was still open, I saw that it was closing in 55 minutes!  I thought, "Well surely I can make a card in that amount of time!"  Here is what I created:

My card is a bit more "grungy" than the inspiration pic, but I like it just the same!  Obviously, I was inspired by those yummy candy canes down in the bottom right corner!

Gotta get this linked up!

Holly Jolly Monochromatic, part 2:

The Holly Jolly  monochromatic challenge is so good, I decided to make another card:

It is modeled after one I have pinned on Pinterest using the SU Dasher stamp that I love so much!  I wish I had it in my possession!  But since I do not own Dasher, I went with this "dashing deer" from the Inkadinkado set, Holiday Silhouettes.  The snowflakes come from a set by The Paper Company called, appropriately, Snowflake.  I used Cotton White Stazon ink to stamp them, but I wish I had used something else.  For some reason, that ink pad is SO STICKY, it tends to "blur" the details of my stamps.  Oh well.  It's difficult to see, but the "snow" is glittered with some of Martha's crystal coarse glitter.  The sentiment is from Studio G, stamped in the same brown from The Paper Company that I used for the deer.

Well, this certainly has been a chatty post...guess I'll get this one linked up too!

Take care,

~Marie~

Monochromatic colors at Holly Jolly:

Holly Jolly Christmas challenge is looking for monochromatic creations this week.  I think monochromatic creations are always so elegant and sophisticated looking!  Here is my card:

OK, so maybe mine is more on the whimsical side, but I think it's cute!  The stockings are made using my newest punch from EK Success that I picked up at Joann Fabrics last week.  YEA!!  :)  It helped that it was 40% off too!  BIG  :)  Well, since it's late, I'm just gonna get this linked up to Holly Jolly and hit the hay...

Take care!

Rudolph in Winter Wonderland

This week's Winter Wonderland is all about the reindeer with the shiny red nose!  I dunno about the rest of you, but I always look forward to watching Rudolph on TV at the beginning of the Christmas season...even after all these years!  "Why am I such a misfit, I am not just a nitwit.  Just because my nose glows, why don't I fit in?"  LOL!!  SO CUTE!!!  Here is my card:

This is the first time I have made a card to fit into a business envelope, so I kept it fairly nice and flat.  Since it is difficult to see Rudi's shiny nose, here is a close-up:

Shiny nose courtesy of Sakura Gelly Roll pen!  :)

That's all for now...take care!

Jingle Belles TIC TAC TOE, take 2!

The Jingle Belles are Tic Tac Toe-ing again this week!  Here again is the playing board:

This time I chose to go across the middle:  flowers, red or green, and ribbon.  Here's my card:

For the flower, of course I had to use my Spellbinders poinsettia die again, cut out of vellum.  I distressed the edges of the white panel with scissors and Frayed Burlap DI.  Dyed the seam binding with the dark red ink used to stamp the swirls, and added some Fired Brick to add dimension to the color a bit.  I was hoping the poinsettia would stand out a bit more, but I didn't want to distress it at all...it looks better IRL, I promise!

Well, that's all for tonight...I may start another card, or I may just check out Pinterest!  :)  Take care!

Merry Monday #71

This week's Merry Monday is a good one:

And here is my card:

This card is pretty simple.  The green paper is from a shimmer pad, but it is hard to see in the pic.  The glitter paper came from Walmart for $1.  LOVE that.  The Memory Box bell die I won from Kittie's blog candy a few months ago!  The sentiment stamp comes from the Holiday Filigree set from Inkadinkado.  Colored the holly leaves in with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  DONE!  One of the quickest cards I've ever made, once I decided what to use.  :)

Good night all, and take care!

We're playing TIC TAC TOE at Jingle Belles!

Come play TIC TAC TOE at Jingle Belles!  Here is the board we are to follow:

And here is my card, following the top horizontal line of snowman, glitter or bling, and dry or heat embossing.

I've had this Tim Holtz snowman folder for over a year, but this is the first i have used it.  I KNOW, WHAT??!!  As much as I love snowmen, you'd think I would have used it WAAAYYY before now!  LOL  I know this card was inspired by Pinterest SOMEHOW, but I can't recall an exact card right now...  It is difficult to see the sparkle on the snowman, so here is a closeup:

For good measure though, I also added some bling to the snowflake punch outs.  :)

Well, that is all I will share this evening; it's late, and I'm sleepy!  G'nite!

Winter Wonderland: Red and Green Must be Seen

Red and Green at Winter Wonderland this week.  Here is my card:

I did my best to only use red and green, but the sentiment had to be stamped on white.  This card was inspired by a card on Pinterest too, only that one had fall colors and more embellishment to it.  I also put my three images on the right instead of on the left.  Added three gems to the snowflakes for some sparkle.  The sentiment comes from the Inkadinkado set called Christmas Characters.

Well, that's all for now.  I may or may not have another card later today, depending on how much I get done.

Take care,

~Marie~

Holly Jolly Christmas challenge...GIMME GLITTER! LOL

This week's Holly Jolly challenge is a good one...all about GLITTER!  WOOHOO!!  Here's my submission:

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I SWORE I would not get too invloved in that site...so much for that idea!  I tweaked it a bit to make it my own, but it is pretty similar to the inspiration card.  Before I coated the "ornament" TWICE with Mod Podge and MS crystal coarse glitter, I inked the edges with TH Frayed Burlap ink.  LOVE that color!  The sentiment comes from the Christmas Glamour set from TCP, and is stamped in TCP brown.  I did have some difficulty in getting the bow to stay adhered where I wanted it.  Alene's Tacky glue and some steady pressure from the bottle finally did the trick!

Well, that's all there is to say really...I hope everyone has a good week!

Home for the Holidays, Jingle Belles Style!

Jingle Belles, Home for the Holidays!  I really like this prompt from the Belles this week!  Makes me wanna sing some Perry Como!  LOL  Instead of that, how about I just show you what I made for the challenge:

Here is what the Belles had to say about what they were looking for :

Make a card with a house on it

OR

Make a card with the word "HOME" on it

OR

Make a card that references building materials of some sort, such as wood-grain paper, a brick embossing folder, etc.

So, I guess with mine, I went for the (bird) house, and referencing the building materials (the embossing folder I can't remember the name of!)  And yes I realize that cardinals do not live in birdhouses, but I figured that was my poetic license to include whatever bird I wanted to!  :)  I got the template from the Create with Dee blog, May 2011.  My home computer won't let me link to it, so you'll have to search for it if you wanna get it for yourself...sorry!

Well, I need to hit the sack!  Tomorrow is truck day at work, and I am tired!  Nite!

ETA:  I have Dee's blog linked up now!  :)

Holly Jolly Christmas challenge: TAG IT!

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge:  TAG IT!  Sorry, for the odd set up, but Blogger and my internet connection are NOT getting along right now!  Here is my card:

I'm sneaking this in under the wire...so I"ll just say I used the Spellbinders Poinsettia die, and the Sizzix Tags, Scallop Combo #2.  The tag was cut from the top of a candy box, the rest is all just regular old Georgia Pacific white from Walmart.  I used Mowed Lawn and Fired Brick Distress Ink for the flower.  The sentiment is from Studio G.

Thank you for looking, and have a good week!
