HELLO!

Does anyone remember me saying that I had made some Valentine's cards that I just needed to edit the pics of? Well, seems I had forgotten where they were until a few days ago. I had forgotten that we got a newer camera for Christmas...and guess where those pics were? On the new camera. Ahhhh, the signs of getting older...

Well about the cards I have been speaking of: Nothing majorly spectacular on either of these...although I did finally try using glitter on packing tape; something I had wanted to try for awhile, but never got around to. The bird stamp is one I have had for a little while. I am pretty pleased with my inking of the sky and grass on this one, and the little color to the bird's belly. Again, nothing spectacular, just nice enough to please me!

Well, I wanna do some blog reading before bed, so I'll sign off for now...take care all my bloggy friends! :)

And as promised...

my brother's birthday card. His birthday is tomorrow, but since we are going to celebrate Easter with my family, it will be hand delivered Sunday. I used his favorite color--red. I know this LO may look familiar, but it's a pretty easy one to reproduce, so it's like an old friend to me! LOL I hope he will like it, as I hope you all do too! Oh, and just so you know, the tulips on the porch DID get planted this evening... :) Take care until I return!

READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

LOL! I just found this site a little bit ago while making comments on cards entered in the Jingle Belles challenge...here....isn't Olivia the cutest kitty?? I so hope she ends up being mine! But also, good luck to everyone else...I don't wanna seem selfish... :) So, now, run and check out the DigiStamp Boutique!! Go, GO!!!

Good morning! (JB16)

Hello all my friends in blog-land! I hope you have all been doing well since my last post! Here in PA, we have had some nasty, rainy weather lately, but today it looks like we may have a bit of sunshine! Maybe this evening we can get the tulips we have in a box on our front porch actually planted in the garden with last year's tulips...lol.

So, onto this card. I made this card for this week's challenge over at the Jingle Belles blog: Create a Christmas card to die (cut) for! This week, the Jingle Belles are working with Betty Bee's Buzz, so go check them out too!

Since I seem to have ALOT of Christmas stamps, I wanted to use one that had not yet had the joy of being inked. This deer comes from the Holiday Silhouettes set from Inkadinkado. I used Nesties to diecut him and to make the matting. The green strips were embossed with a Sizzix folder that I don't remember the name of. The snowflake is also diecut from Nesties; I combined pieces from the 2 sets I have to make this one. The ink is a metallic copper that I picked up at AC Moore some time ago...I like the shine of it, but I think it stamps a bit "muddy" looking. I also used this ink to highlight the edges of the snowflake. The little green gems that inspired me to add the green cardstock came from the dollar bin at Mike's. Well, that's all I can say about this card...I will be back later on to post my brother's birthday card. Posting.... :)

Ooooo, three, count 'em, THREE posts in one month!

LOL, this just tickles me pink! Seriously, my robe is pink...I digress. I am posting today to enter this card into the challenge over at the Jingle Belles blog. Their 15th challenge is a recipe:

1- as white as a ghost

2- a present

3- a bow or a knot

4- a touch of traditional Christmas colors

All of these elements added together= "the ghost of Christmas present"...aren't Steph and Lauren just too clever? Teehee!!

So, my card is pretty simple...I was inspired by Steph's card. My base is white and the embossed layer is white; I went around the edge with a green Sharpie to provide some contrast. The image is a Studio G rubber stamp that I'm sure I picked up in the dollar bin at Michael's. I colored with a red Sharpie and a green ZIG pen. Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties were used to die cut the image and the green mat, and I attached it with foam tape. That's about it...publishing post now....

Look Ma! 2 days in a row!

Yes, folks, I am back! Can ya believe it? Heehee! Just wanted to add a couple more cards for ya to view. Sorry Carol, they are still from my stash for Christmas! I had the images laying on the desk, all colored up...seemed wrong to let them sit til November! These images are from a Whimsie Doodles set that I just HAD to have! I have more cards made with other images from the set, so be on the lookout! I love these images; they are just so cute! I hope you like what you see! Well, as I type, I am fighting off sleep...and losing, so here goes the mouse toward the "publish post" button...night all!

How-DY!

Did that sound like Minnie Pearl? If it did, that's what I was hoping for! How is everyone? I hope you are all well and healthy. Seems like sickness has been wreaking havoc alot this winter season, but hopefully we are all on the way out of that. My younger DD, Leandra, broke her wrist a couple of weeks ago, so now she is in a light blue cast just past her elbow. We go back to the orthopedist Friday to check the healing progress, and hopefully soon, she can get a shorter cast. So for now, I am helping her shower and dress when needed. She was such a good little trooper thru the whole thing...she had to be put under to have it set; she only got upset right before she went in, asking if I could go in with her. Even though she understood why I couldn't, she was still upset about it, so they gave her something to calm her down. Ahhh, my poor baby!

Well, enough about the "real" world, how about some cards? I have been working on my stash of Christmas cards, and I took and edited some pics today, on my day off (YEA!) These two feature my favorite winter subject, snowmen. The "pink lemonade" colored one shows a cute little scene from Melyssa Connolly of Whimsie Doodles. I can't remember the name of it, nor can I find it on the site, but if you really wanted to know about it, I'm sure Melyssa could help you! I've had the image colored for a loooong time, just waiting for my mojo to come back! The card in blues uses a piece recycled from a card (I think), that was gifted to me by my friend Carol. There are 3 more similar to it waiting on my desk, so be on the lookout for those in the future.

Well, it's late, and I do have to go to work tomorrow (BOO!), so I'd best be hitting the "publish post" button right about now...night all! :)
