JB:12:17, Oh Christmas Sketch

     Well, hello bloggy friends!  I am here to show you my take on this week's Jingle Belles challenge which is this sketch, created by the awesome Stef!

And here is my interepretation:

     I had the snowflake already done on my desk, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  Well, when I saw the sketch and what Lauren and Stef had done with it themselves, I just HAD to add more "schtuff" to my already purty snowflake.  I hope that it isn't perhaps TOO much "schtuff"!  The panels behind the snowflake were embossed with the Snowflake Embossiblities plate by Spellbinders.  While still in place, I sponged over top with Antique Linen.  When I was satisfied with it, I then sprayed it with my own shimmery spray in Champagne.  It looks real purty when moving it around in the light!  The three "shiny sticks" at the top of the snowflake are glitter covered toothpicks.  Don't they just remind you of rock candy?  I thought my flake needed something else up top, and that is what I came up with.  So, final opinion...is it too much?

As promised...a card! :)

     Hello, bloggy friends!  I have finally gotten around to participating in the Merry Monday challenge I have been following for some time now at Lesley's blog, Always Playing with Paper.  I always managed to just miss entering...I would have the card done, but never get around to photographing it!  Well, not this week!
     I'm not sure how much I like my final result.  The sketch was great to work with, but I'm just not sure about my choice of materials.  I followed my friend Janet Kay's lead and used some glitter paper on my card too, just as she did this week!  Thanks for the inspiration, Janet Kay!  Speaking of my materials, the pretty ornament is a rub on I got at Ben Franklin a couple of years ago.  I inked around the rub on with Memento Lady Bug ink.  I used that ink for the sentiment as well.  The snowflake paper and red base is from a cardstock set I got at Michael's some weeks ago.
     Well, I suppose that's all I have to say about my entry.  I'm gonna go have a look at the rest of this week's entries...how bout you?  Until next time, take care!

HELLO!!!!

Hiya all my bloggy friends!  Long time, no post!  Seems like my mojo takes a flying leap when summer starts, but I have been having some crafty fun, and of course, buying some more supplies.  Because a crafty gal can NEVER have enough supplies!  :)  Lately, I have been playing with snowflakes.  Specifically the Spellbinders 1 and 2 build a snowflake die sets.  I have had these for a year or two, but have just now started playing with them.  What fun!  Mine don't seem to cut thru felt as well as I had hoped they would, but with some patience and my scissors, I succeeded!  I am planning (hoping) to soon post a card possibly made with one of my creations.  I have been enjoying reading all the blogs I follow during my hiatus, and they were always inspiring!

Well, I should close now and get back to my desk to see what may develop in the next few minutes before bed...g'nite, and sleep tight!  :)

JB12-9...Earth day recycling

Hello!  Just a reeeaaaallllly quick post to add my Jingle Belles card to the mix.  With this SLOW dial-up, I hope I make it in time!  We were to reduce, reuse, recycle in accordance with Earth day a few weeks ago.  My tree was originally on a gift bag that a present was received in last Christmas.  Of course, I pulled it off to use again in some way!  I tried to keep the rest of the card pretty simple to let the tree shine...so to speak!  I added the paint chip star to cover a boo-boo, and then colored a piece of bling to match.  Make sure you head on over to Jingle Belles to see the rest of this week's amazing entires!

Entry Number 2...

for the DigiStamp Boutique April competition. Since I don't know when I'll have this much time to devote to being online again, I best post this now! This little cutie is part of the Easter Collection, which is chock-full of 8 images (boy and girl versions), and is on SALE right now! I'll wait while you all run to pick that up now...

Have you made it back? I hope I didn't enable you "too" much! LOL The dp this time is from "The Spring Stack" from DCWV. Looking at it now, I think I may have used a few too many different ones! Ah well, live and learn! The image is colored with PrismaColor markers, and I had fun doodling around the edge using the next size down in the Spellbinders Large Ovals as a guide. Another lollipop flower, this time done in two different pinks, with Cotton Candy Stickles around the edges, and a green button in the middle. The sentiment is from the same set as before, Greetings, from TPC. It is actually Best Friends, but I just masked the "best" out of it.

Easter card and entry one for DigiStamp Boutique April challenge

Greetings all my friends in blog-land! I hope you are all doing and feeling well! I am getting over a cold , which really wreaks havoc with me singing along to songs on DISH. Right now I am listening to "The Bridge", whose tagline reads "The Softer Side of Classic Rock". *happy sigh* It's like re-living my early years! At this moment, John Lennon is singing "Starting Over". LOVE IT!!! Ooooohhh, it just changed to Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown"!!!

Anyway, onto the reason for my post...to show you one of the Easter cards I made, which is also my first entry in the DigiStamp Boutique's April challenge. I really love the images Sally-Ann draws...so cute! This guy was the freebie she gifted us with in January, and hopefully he is now in the hands of a good friend of mine from World of Crafters! :) The dp is from a 6x6 paper pad from MME, "Ooh La La". Cute stuff! The lollipop flower was sprayed with Martha Stewart's Tiger Lily pearl paint mixed with water (OH MY, does it have awesome sparkle!!). I edged each piece with Spiced Marmalade distress Stickles, and glued a small orange button smack dab in the middle. I gotta tell ya, these flowers I have been making are so much fun to do! AND addicting! The little guy himself was colored with PrismaColor markers, and a pink Crayola for his ears. I added just a smidge of sparkle on the carrot with Gelly Roll pens. The sentiment is part of a set from The Paper Company called Greetings.

I guess that should be all anyone would wanna know about this card. Take care while Sir Elton John serenades me with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".....

JB12:07, Happy Hybrid Holiday

Hello all my friends in blog-land! Long time, no post! I just haven't been taking the time to get online at home much, since we have diiiiiiiiaaaaaaalllllllllll-uuuuuuuuuuppppppp. And it's sooooooo sloooooowwwwwwww. LOL Really, it just takes forEVER to do anything productive. But enough dribble, I'm sure you'd all really rather see a card!

This is the card I've concocted for the latest prompt over at Jingle Belles, to use a digital image on your card/project. No problem for me, I love digis and have TONS...but I am always collecting more! This cutie comes from Meljen's Designs, and he is called Snow Bunny. Melissa draws the most ADORABLE animals, doesn't she?? I guess I went pretty traditional with the colors on this image. I had fun adding puffy paint to his hood and sleeve trim! And of course, I snazzed up the snow mounds with some Stickles. Lately, I have been experimenting making flowers out of dryer sheets. Mostly I was just die cutting them with circles and scalloped circles, but this time I decided to try using the Flower Layers Sizzix die. Worked like a charm! The sheet was first sprayed with my own homemade glimmer mist, I let it dry, then die cut it, and added gold Stickles around the edges before assembly. I also crinkled up the layers first too. I'm rather pleased with my results! I haven't added a sentiment yet, just because I didn't take the time to! :) Well, that's it for this long winded post. Take care! :)

DigiStamp Boutique, Feb comp, entry 2

And here I am for the third time this evening to show you this card. This was Leandra's Valentine, as she is a dog lover. And this puppy's name is Barney. Say "HI!" to Barney everyone! :) Awwwwwww!!!! Doesn't he look so sweet holding his heart for you?? I used another sheet of dp from the Studio G pack, which just happened to go with Barney's butterfly friends...SUH-WEET!!! And yup, I used my favorite layout again. :) What can I say? I like it. Studio G provided the sentiment here too...I thought it fit pretty well with Barney's heart. OK, I am DONE showing you cards for this evening. I hope you have enjoyed my efforts. DigiStamp Boutique, February competition...entry one

Good evening again folks! I'm here tonight to show you my first entry for this month's DigiStamp Boutique customer competition. This a-DOR-able bear is Louie. He is part of the Louie Love set, one of three images. Isn't he just THE cutest??? When I saw this set, I HAD to have it! The dp is from Studio G...yes, dp from Studio G! $.97 for six sheets at Wal-Mart!! I think that's awesome! :) The sentiment is also a Studio G, stamped in orange TCP ink. I used my Prismacolor markers on Louie...still practicing! The hearts are all colored and then Stickled. Sparkle-ay! Well, I should get on with this...I still want to post the OTHER card I made for the competition. Oh, and this card went to my DD, Laurena for Valentine's Day. See ya soon!

JB12:04...All Buttoned Up!!

Happy Wednesday evening folks! I'm making this a quickie post cause I NEEEEED to get this done and linked up to Jingle Belles! We were to use buttons (or brads, or eyelets)...you know we all have those in our arsenal! I was cleaning out a couple of my desk drawers, and came across these snowman rub-ons, which I was inspired to use on this card. And what goes better with snowmen than snowflakes?? :) So, these snowflake buttons made their way onto my card too! I went with my simple go-to layout, with some dp along the left side of the card, and rickrack to provide some interest. The sentiment is from TCP, stamped with teal TCP ink. OK, gotta get this linked up! BYYYYE!

JB12:03, A Banner Holiday!

Greetings blogland friends! Happy Tuesday afternoon! One more day of work under the ole belt, three more to go! As usual, I am getting my Jingle Belles card in on the next to last day of the challenge...seems to be my habit this year! For this challenge, Stef and Lauren have asked that we be inspired by their new blog banner, in any way, shape or form that may take! I went the "easy" way, and chose to be inspired by the colors...seems to me my card from the previous challenge coulda fit this bill nicely too! But, I like this one much better!

The dp is from the Winter Wonderland pack by...(I have forgotten who!), adhered to kraft cs. The purty swirly is one of many different colored ones I found in the dollar bins at Michael's. I puchased the blossom SB specifically for the purpose of making a poinsettia, and I finally got to it! I cut the different sizes out, spritzed them with water, and then crumpled the heck out of 'em! Before they dried, I ran a darker red inkpad over them for some depth. After I assembled the flower, I thought that it needed more definition between layers, so I added some Candycane Stickles to the points. Oh, and the edge of the dp was run thru a Martha Stewart punch on one side.
