Golden Christmas

Good Thursday evening everyone!  I'm here tonight to share a card I *was* making for the Winter Wonderland challenge, but didn't get to link it up in time.  But I'll share it anyway:
I've always admired gold and white cards made by others, but this is the first one I've made.  I rather like it!  The image and sentiment both come from the Nativity Christmas set from Stampendous. It's a great set I bought at Michael's a few weeks ago.  I started with a 5.5 inch square card base, then layered gold shimmer paper, a corner punched white layer, a piece of sparkly and sheer wired ribbon, , then my image panel, mounted on a scrap of white that I embossed the edges of with the same powder as the image and sentiment.  I learned that from Jennifer McGuire!  Lemme show you a close up of the sparkle in the embossing powder:
Pretty, isn't it?  The photo still doesn't really do it justice.

Challenges I'm adding this to:
Holly Jolly:  BINGO/Tic Tac Toe  (I used the top row, ribbon, texture, glitter)
Completely Christmas:  Anything goes w/a twist; add a sentiment
That's all!  Thanks for stopping by...take care and hug your loved ones!  :)

Merry Monday #132, Snowflakes, Neutral colors and Dry Embossing

Happy Tuesday evening fellow bloggers!  If you're thinking "But it's only Tuesday," think of it this way:  We're one day closer to the coming weekend than we were yesterday, lol!  I know, on with it already...
So, I'm here to share with you the card I made for this week's Merry Monday theme:

And here's my card:

Here's the lowdown:  Used Darice Snowflake Trim embossing folder which was also inked with Colorbox Frost White ink in the folder, and then painstakingly (but lovingly) added Star Dust Stickles to each snowflake.  Used one of my favorite wood stamps from Studio G for the sentiment, embossed in Snow detail embossing powder.  Used Snowflake One set from Spellbinders for my snowflake piece, which is cut from champagne shimmer paper and edged with Antique Linen.  Also popped up each layer on foam tape for dimension.  In retrospect, I may also add a pearl to the center of the snowflake.

Challenges this will go into:

Merry Monday #132:  Snowflakes, dry embossing and neutral colors
Completely Christmas#35:  Anything goes w/a twist, add a sentiment

As always, thanks for stopping by...take care and give your loved ones a hug!

Creature Feature at Jingle Belles

I'm back again on this Saturday to share another Christmas card with you:

I've had this little cutie colored up for a few weeks, just sitting on my desk waiting for the perfect card to rest on.  I decided to stay pretty simple with the layout, just using 2 patterned American Crafts papers.  The blue striped one is from the Jack Frost pad, and the red w/snowflakes is from the Wish List pad.  The robin is a DigiStamp Boutique image from this collection here.  LOVE these cuties so much!  The sentiment from Studio G is stamped in Memento Ladybug Red.

That's all there is for this one.  Here are the challenges I'm linking to:

Jingle Belles:  Creature Feature
Completely Christmas:  Anything goes w/a twist, Add a Sentiment
Sparkles Christmas challenge:  For a Child (I think a child would like this little guy!)

Thanks again for stopping by, and take care!

Snowflakes are a-flyin'!

Happy Saturday, fellow bloggers!  I hope your day is wonderful!  It's a nice sunny day here in Pennsylvania, with a good wind blowing and a 62 degree temp.  I've had QVC on TV all day...and no I haven't bought anything!  :)

I dropped in today to share another Christmas card:

This is the card I made out of the "test" I did for the card posted here.  I really like it in Tumbled Glass blue!  I simply used some matching glitter paper to back the image and sentiment panels.  And let me share a secret with you all:  The sentiment was originally just supposed to be stamped on the image panel, BUT since I had already attached the image panel with foam tape, it wouldn't stamp right.  So I thought I would stamp it in black, but that just didn't suit me, so I had to cover it up!  I'm so glad I had enough room to add the glitter paper behind the white panel!  WHEW!  Disaster averted!  ;)

The challenges I'm adding this card to:

Completely Christmas:  Anything goes w/a twist; add a sentiment
Penny Black and More:   Get Ahead for Christmas

Thanks for stopping by, and take care!

One more *PINK* card...

I don't know what is in store for me tomorrow evening, so I won't promise another *PINK* card for the Jingle Belles *PINK* challenge, but I am hopeful!  For tonight however, here is my card:

Simple card here:  5.5 inch square base; slightly smaller, popped up hot pink glitter panel with cutout center circle; magenta Fred, She Said snowflake medallion; and Inkadinkado sentiment.  I used a hot pink ink for stamping, and Star Dust Stickles on the tiny circles on the snowflake...honest I did!  And that's it!

These are the challenges in which this will be entered:

Jingle Belles:  *PINK* Christmas
Winter Wonderland:  Tropical Christmas (hot pink, baby!)
Merry Monday #131:  Non-traditional colors
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge #199:  Something forgotten or never used (first time the sentiment has been inked, and been a long time since I used these Fred images!)

Thanks for stopping by, and take good care until next time!  :)

*PINK* and Tropical Non-traditional Christmas

Hello fellow bloggers!  I hope your Monday was a good one...and the rest of your week will be as well!  I'm here to share with you this card:

Aren't these penguins just adorable?  They're from Snag 'Em Stamps, and they've been sitting in my stash for a good while now without seeing any ink.  I think they are happier now that they have gotten inky!  :)  The dp all comes from the MME Merry 6 x 6 pad, and the sparkly banner is cut from a DCWV glitter cardstock 6 x 6  pad.  I was in need of a sketch, so I went to the Papertake Weekly blog for some inspiration and found some in sketch #86.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly:  Super Fly (anything with wings)
Jingle Belles *PINK* Christmas
Winter Wonderland:  Tropical Christmas
Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  Snowflakes (there are tiny snowflakes on the blue and pink circles on the dp)
Merry Monday #131: Non-traditional Christmas colors
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge:  Use something forgotten or never used
Penny Black and More:  Get Ahead for Christmas

HOLY COW!  TEN challenges! That is definitely the most I have EVER entered at one time.  How awesome is that?!

Thanks for stopping by, and take care!

Let's build a snowman! :)

I just wanted to get back on here again tonight to show a card I made a couple of weeks ago:

It took me awhile to like this card.  I'm still not quite sure if I totally like it, but it's good enough to add to the blog!  This happy fellow is from the SU! set A Merry Season that my friend Roxanne is letting me borrow.  He is really cute!  I just went with a basic layout, and tried to make him as colorful as a snowman can be, lol!

I'm adding this to the following challenges:

Holly Jolly:  Snowman Fun
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas extra:  Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge: Cover card front with patterned paper

Thanks again for stopping by!

In the *PINK* with Jingle Belles, take 2!

I'm here on this fabulous Thursday evening to share my second card for the Jingle Belles *PINK* Christmas challenge for breast cancer:

I was so inspired by this card I pinned months ago, but of course promptly forgot about it among all the other inspiration on Pinterest.  Trolling through the other day, I saw it again, and knew I had to get it out of my system!  I practiced once beforehand in Tumbled Glass, which I still may use on a card, but I really wanted to make another *PINK* card for Jingle Belles.  I think I need more practice because I went a little overboard on this one!  I kept swiping with my sponge and distress tool, and occasionally I would go over where I wanted my ending to be, so I just went all the way over, lol!  I still think it looks pretty cool, though.  This would be awesome to see in other colors too...time for more practice maybe?  ;)

Other challenges to check out:

Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge: Something Round (the circles on the points of the snowflake)

Thanks for stopping by to have a look, and take care!

Breast Cancer Awareness, Jingle Belles style!

Good Monday evening, everyone!  I hope your days all went well...Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends and relatives, too!

I'm here to share with you my first card for the Jingle Belles *PINK* challenge:

A couple of firsts in the making of this card:  My first actual Tiddly Inks "physical" stamp, from the set that came with issue #130 of Quick Cards!  Oh, I was SO EXCITED to get my hands on this issue, let me tell ya!  The whole set is too stinkin' cute!  If you don't know this character, her name is Wrynn, and I just think she is so adorable!  My other first for this card is that this is the first time I ever tried water coloring with stamps!  I don't think I did *too* badly, but there is definitely room for improvement!  I used distress inks to do the water coloring, and watched a few YouTube videos beforehand.  The sentiment is computer generated, as I couldn't find anything at all suitable in my vast collection of Christmas stamps...imagine that, lol!  I loved this Papertake sketch that I saw on Dee's blog, so I used it for this card.  It's #68.

Other challenges I'm linking to:

Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Extra:  Always Anything Goes
Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  Snowflakes (snowflake embossing folder)

Well, I suppose that's about it for tonight.  It's 11:00pm, and I should get to bed!  Goodnight, and take care!

It's PINK Christmas time! :)

OK, all my bloggy friends out there, you all know it is October already...and with that comes Breast Cancer Awareness month!  And again, the wonderful ladies that head up the Jingle Belles blog, Stef and Lauren, are joining in the fight!  Here is the info:

The "Pink Christmas" prompt will run at JINGLE BELLES from 12am on Friday, October 10th to 6pm on Wednesday, October 22nd; as in previous years, Stephanie and Lauren pledge to donate $4 per linked-up card to The Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The only requirement is that all link-ups be NEW holiday cards with some noticeable pink on them... so in other words, not just Rudolph's NOSE, lol!

Participants may use sketches, combine challenges, and include any other colors in addition to pink; you can showcase however many cards you'd like in one post, don't worry, we'll still count every single one of them towards the total!

Thank you very much for your support!
♥♥♥

Now I don't have any cards to share as of this post, but I wanted to bring it to your attention if you weren't already on board!  PLEASE join in for this great cause, AND get some more Christmas cards done for your stash!  It's a win-win!!  :)  I hope to be back tomorrow with a card or two!
