CCAYR August Mid-Month DT Post

Hi folks!  Sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up, but my desktop decided it didn't want to work anymore, and also our internet service is crap.  Just plain CRAP!  It is SUPPOSED to be "unlimited," but after the first 10 gigs, it goes down to 2G speeds, which makes it difficult to get things done!  I HATE IT! Rant over.  Now on to prettier things:

Here is my card for the August CCAYR challenge to use yellow.  Now I know Deanne has these prepared months ahead of time, but I'm more apt to just do what is immediately in front of me.  THIS challenge threw me for a bit...YELLOW on a CHRISTMAS card?!?  That made me think that it had to be the predominant color at first.  Then I saw my fellow DT makes and I realized that yellow could be more of an accent color.  That's where I went with this card.  I found this yummy Christmas paper in the Mistletoe and Holly 12x12 pad from Love, Nicole.  The flip side of this design is the dark green that I used to cover my card front.  The red doily-punched strip between the designer paper and the cream piece was left from another similar card I made earlier.  It also comes from the same paper pad.  The sentiment is from Cloud9 Design, and is stamped in gold ink.  Gold ribbon wrapped around the red piece and a bow on top complete this card.
