Bugaboo Freebie Friday!!

Hey!  It's Friday!  WOOT, WOOT!  I'm popping in here really quick (before I go to bed!) to share the card I made with this week's Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo:

This image is called Winter Kids 01, and I tried to link back to the store for ya, but that image name comes up as another image right now, so I'll have to come back later and edit this.  I used a leftover piece of the Purple Blue Winter digi paper, die cut a Spellbinder's oval out of the center, and layered a piece of the embossing powder trapped in laminating sheet (another leftover) behind it.  I love the soft look of this so much!  :)  I have noticed that my laminate sheets are coming apart as I cut through them, so maybe I used too much powder.  Hey, I wanted it to really look snowy!  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Christmas Phrases 1 die set.  I coated it in a couple layers of clear Wink of Stella for a little more sparkle.

GDT for Scrapping4fun Challenges, Challenge #159

Hello all, and Happy (almost) Friday!  Can you believe it's January 30th already?  Where the HECK did the first month of 2020 go?!?  If it keeps up at this pace, we'll be into fall in the next week or so!  LOL

Anyhow, I'm posting today as a Guest Designer for Scrappin4fun, challenge #159.  As one of the Featured Creations for challenge #156 with this card, I was invited to join in for this challenge.  Of course, I accepted!  :)  Here is the challenge graphic:

All items must be used at least once on your project, but they can also be used more than once.  Here is my card:

I need a bunch of birthday cards in the first 5 months of the year, so this Bugaboo Stamps Birthday Hedgie 02 that I had in my little image basket was perfect!  The patterned paper comes from a 12x12 Craft Smith Hot Buy paper pad called Honeydew from Michael's.  I hate eating honeydew, or any melons, for that matter, but I love the papers in this pad!  So, I colored my image to match using my alcohol markers, and loosely followed a sketch from the now closed Papertake Weekly challenge.  I'm so glad the challenge owner left the pages up for us to still use the sketches...I use them quite often!  The pink card stock is from the Strawberry Cream card stock pack from Recollections, and I embossed the Spellbinder's circle with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder.

As per the requirements of the Countdown, I scrounged the felt flower brad out of my stash, sliced off a piece of sorely neglected ribbon, and glued down some pink iridescent gems in select places.  I didn't think I would be able to pull it off at first, but with the advice of my lovely crafty friend Renee, from Delany Jane Cards, the card is complete.  If you don't know Renee, you should really check out her blog and YouTube channel!  She is fantastic!  :)

Until we meet again...Take care, and God Bless!

It's Humor Me Wednesday, and Day 5 of Bugaboo's Down on the Farm 10th Birthday Celebration!

Happy Hump day Wednesday!  WOOHOO!  Thanks for stopping by my blog again today...I'd like to show you what I created for today's Humor me Wednesday:

Teehee, this image (Chickz - Holy Cluck Another Bird-Day) and sentiment are too funny!  I had fun coloring up these chickens, and I actually looked up different varieties to color.  The first one I colored like a Buff Orpington, the second one is a Rhode Island Red, and the third is a Bantam (I think).  I was quite surprised to notice that in all the pictures I looked at, the chickens all had red around their eyes; so that's why mine all have red eyelids.  I had this piece of pink and brown polka dotted paper picked out for my card, so I colored the rest of the elements in the image to match.  The balloon, present, and a few other parts of the image were covered in Wink of Stella, and then the cherry and balloon were covered in Glossy Accents.

Welcome to Day 4 of the Down on the Farm 10th Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug!!

Hello, and Happy Tuesday!  I'm back today to share what I made for Day 4 of the Down on the Farm Bugaboo Birthday Bash:

This was made using the new release image called Pig Present, which is available as a flash freebie for a little while yet, so hurry up and grab yours!  The link is here.  I decided to color my image to go with the confetti paper from the 12x12 DCWV Confetti paper pad using my go-to alcohol markers.  I added sparkle with Wink of Stella to the balloons, cherry, birthday die cut, and spots on the hat.  I also used it to cover the edges of the purple card stock layers, which I think you can see if you look in the upper left corner.  I also added Glossy Accents to the balloons, cherry, birthday word, and the pig's hooves.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Down on the Farm 10th Birthday Bash for Bugaboo stamps!!

Hello everyone,  happy Saturday!  The time has come to celebrate 10 years of great Bugaboo images with a week-long birthday bash!  Our theme for this party is Down on the Farm, and here is my card for day 1:

This card was originally a shaker card when I came up with the idea...as you can see, it is not a shaker card.  LOL!  That all fell to pieces when I added the foam tape to the main panel without adding any acetate.  OOPS!  I still doubled up on the foam tape for some extra dimension.  The gingham paper was cut from a piece of tissue paper that I had been saving for just such an occasion.  I adhered it to a cheapy piece of card stock for stability before die cutting it with a Spellbinders hexagon die.  I used a white card base, but didn't like the look of that with the gingham, so I covered it with a piece of kraft.  Much better.    I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment on the hexagon shape before adhering it directly to the card base after I set the panel down for proper alignment.  I added the cutie patootie Bobblehead Farm Cow image in the lower right corner using liquid glue and doubled up foam tape behind the left side of his head, where it's over the recessed area.  I made a cute little bow out of leftover burlap strings I had been hoarding keeping, and glued it above the hexagonal opening.

BUGABOO FREEBIE FRIDAY AT CATCH THE BUG!!! 😄

Hey all, Happy Friday!  I hope you all had a good week, and an even better weekend coming up!  I have to work a bit tomorrow morning, but it's still the weekend,  so it's all good.  :)

Have you checked out Bugaboo's Friday freebie yet?  It's a super cute one!  Here's my card:

LOL, isn't this adorable?  I absolutely love the end of his tail peeking into the top right corner of the image!  This image is called Hey There, and it is super fun to color!  There are 2 copies of the image available in the file, one with "Hay there" in the sentiment box, and the other one blank.  I used the blank one so that I could type my own sentiment for a birthday.  In case you haven't noticed yet, this is  kind of a precursor to the Bugaboo 10th Birthday festivities that begin tomorrow:

All of the DT members and our current guests will be present for tomorrow's post, so be sure to stop on by to check it out, and join in on the Farm Fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! CHRISTMAS CRAFTS ALL YEAR ROUND ATG -- JAN 2020

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog!  It's a new year, and a new decade!  I have a feeling that this year is gonna be a great one!  I don't know WHY I feel this way; maybe it's just the excitement of a new decade starting that has me all hyped up.  Anyway, it's the beginning of the month, which means another brand new challenge at CCAYR, and this time it's Anything Goes!  Here is what I made:

As is my usual, I was scrambling around last minute to make this card.  I had saved a scrap of this cute wrapping paper from a roll a few years ago, and had it sitting on my cart, so I thought "this should make for a pretty quick card!"  I was right, it did.  I used some double sided tape to adhere it to some GP card stock for a sturdier piece, then I cut a Spellbinders Lacey Square to mat behind it.  This was too big to put on a regular A2 sized base, so I used a 5.5 x 5.5 inch square base.  I cut a piece of Recollections red foil card stock to cover all but a smidge of the card base, and adhered the image panel with Dollar Tree foam squares.  The Tim Holtz Believe die cut was cut from Recollections gold foil card stock, and also twice from 110 lb. Recollections card stock.  These were stacked up for added dimension with Tombow glue, and I also stuck it to the red foil piece with the same glue.  That glue is definitely tricky to use with any kind of foil or wrapping paper, that's for sure!  I have some boogered up areas on both, but hopefully I was able to clear them up a bit.
