Hello crafty friends, and welcome back to my blog! Today is an exciting day for me as the Squirrel Squad is getting the band back together! We took a couple of months off, but now we're back and ready to roll!
So, in case you have forgotten, we are trying to bust through all of those supplies we have squirreled away, and at the same time work with some themes or techniques that we have never done before or haven't done in a while. For this month, we are still holding onto Summer (although I am ready for Fall!) as our theme and using die cuts as our technique/supply. Here is my card:
The first part in the making of this card was choosing a stencil, and this one is called Whirlpool from A Colorful Life Designs. I used Distress Oxides in Broken China and Tumbled Glass and a blending brush to ink up the design. I cut the panel down with a Spellbinders Card Creator die from Set A. Then I set about die cutting the Pair of Popsicles from MFT, but I wanted to make them look as if they were melting in the summer heat, so I cut each of the main pieces 3 times and used the wavy die in the set to achieve that look. To enhance that effect even more, I added Glossy Accents to each layer of the popsicles. The sentiment comes from Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month set for July 2022 called Have a Chill Summer. I stamped it with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, using my MISTI to ensure a great impression. The stenciled panel is glued down flat to the card base, while the popsicles are popped up on some foam tape. And that's it!

Uber talented is an exaggeration... unless you meant talented while riding in an Uber! 😆 You, on the other hand, are *fo sho* uber talented! I love the popsicles in their bright summer colors, and the choice of blue for the background is the perfect primary trifecta! Glossy Accents for the win!
