Let's see if this works....

I have been having trouble posting anything in Blogger...so I want to see if this works...

JB22...We three kings

Hello all! Happy Memorial Day weekend! Here in PA, the weather is hot and sunny (finally!), and after Chad comes home we are going to Mom's for a cook out. YUMMY!!! I am bringing the deviled eggs, mac and cheese, and dirt. For those who don't know what dirt is, it's just chocolate pudding, whipped cream, with oreos mixed in...MMMmmmmmm.

As the title suggests, this card was made for the current challenge over at the Jingle Belles blog, to use three (or more) different patterned papers. This week's sponsor is Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker, who is offering up a 6x6 pad of her Happy Holly-Days paper and some other paper goodies! YEA!

I started out with a kraft base (I am loving this cardstock!!) and three papers from a small set I picked up at Jo-Ann Fabrics a few months ago. The jolly snowman is from a napkin that a good friend sent me with a bunch of other goodies. He is backed by a paint sample that I rounded the corners on, and accented by a punched and glittered snowflake. The sentiment is from Studio G, and stamped in Studio G ink.

Well, Chad will soon be home, so I'd best get my butt moving and finish getting things together. I hope you all enjoy your long weekend, and stay safe! :)

JB19...just in time!

Getting this in under the wire...details later on!

ETA: OK, now that I have a bit of time to "talk" about this card...everything but the cardstock came from the goodies I got from the Jingle Belles, Stef and Lauren. When I first saw the challenge, I thought, "Eh, I don't 'do' vintage...I'll just skip this one." But the more I thought about it, I figured I had SOMEthing in my menagerie of products that would work...so I went back to my desk. Lo and behold, this Christmas scrap kit from Tim Coffey was still on top of my piles of clutter (gasp!), and I thought, "Hey this Santa looks pretty vintage to me." And this paper was the one I chose from the kit to be his backdrop. I used scissors to distress the edges, and then sponged some brown ink on top of the distresssing. I spelled out the sentiment with the letter stickers also included in the kit. There. All the details one could EVER want about this card...LOL Take care until my next visit...

DigiStamp Boutique May Give Away

Ok, well I didn't win Olivia, but maybe I'll have better luck this month? Congrats to those lucky ducks that did win her though! So, if you're interested in possibly winning this month's give away, head on over to the DigiStamp Boutique....NOW!!! I'm tellin' ya, he's a cutie! :)

Happy May 1st!!

Can you all believe it??? The year is almost half over already! I swear the years are getting shorter the older I get! Anyway, onto the reason I started this blog...CARDS! Well, one anyhow. I was adding my latest pics to my flashdrive, when I saw this card I had made for my coworker Heather's baby shower. Does anyone remember me talking about her? Well, if you do, then you will rememeber the story of how her and all but one of her 4 sisters had all girls...and then the final sister to get pregnant had a boy...and how we predicted that since she had broken the cycle, that now Heather would have a boy too? WE WERE RIGHT!!! LOL Although Drake is a few months old now, I thought I would post the baby shower card anyway, since I think it's cute. The giraffe is a stamp from an Autumn Leaves set called Mindy's Zoo. I colored him with Sharpies and/or Bics, and inked around the image while still in the Nestie. I'm pretty sure the scalloped oval is made from foam. The strips of DP were some scraps from my stash. Same 'ole Fiskars baby set for the sentiment...and done! Heather loved it. Thanks for taking the time to have a look...and take care til I return! :)

HELLO!

Does anyone remember me saying that I had made some Valentine's cards that I just needed to edit the pics of? Well, seems I had forgotten where they were until a few days ago. I had forgotten that we got a newer camera for Christmas...and guess where those pics were? On the new camera. Ahhhh, the signs of getting older...

Well about the cards I have been speaking of: Nothing majorly spectacular on either of these...although I did finally try using glitter on packing tape; something I had wanted to try for awhile, but never got around to. The bird stamp is one I have had for a little while. I am pretty pleased with my inking of the sky and grass on this one, and the little color to the bird's belly. Again, nothing spectacular, just nice enough to please me!

Well, I wanna do some blog reading before bed, so I'll sign off for now...take care all my bloggy friends! :)

And as promised...

my brother's birthday card. His birthday is tomorrow, but since we are going to celebrate Easter with my family, it will be hand delivered Sunday. I used his favorite color--red. I know this LO may look familiar, but it's a pretty easy one to reproduce, so it's like an old friend to me! LOL I hope he will like it, as I hope you all do too! Oh, and just so you know, the tulips on the porch DID get planted this evening... :) Take care until I return!

READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

LOL! I just found this site a little bit ago while making comments on cards entered in the Jingle Belles challenge...here....isn't Olivia the cutest kitty?? I so hope she ends up being mine! But also, good luck to everyone else...I don't wanna seem selfish... :) So, now, run and check out the DigiStamp Boutique!! Go, GO!!!

Good morning! (JB16)

Hello all my friends in blog-land! I hope you have all been doing well since my last post! Here in PA, we have had some nasty, rainy weather lately, but today it looks like we may have a bit of sunshine! Maybe this evening we can get the tulips we have in a box on our front porch actually planted in the garden with last year's tulips...lol.

So, onto this card. I made this card for this week's challenge over at the Jingle Belles blog: Create a Christmas card to die (cut) for! This week, the Jingle Belles are working with Betty Bee's Buzz, so go check them out too!

Since I seem to have ALOT of Christmas stamps, I wanted to use one that had not yet had the joy of being inked. This deer comes from the Holiday Silhouettes set from Inkadinkado. I used Nesties to diecut him and to make the matting. The green strips were embossed with a Sizzix folder that I don't remember the name of. The snowflake is also diecut from Nesties; I combined pieces from the 2 sets I have to make this one. The ink is a metallic copper that I picked up at AC Moore some time ago...I like the shine of it, but I think it stamps a bit "muddy" looking. I also used this ink to highlight the edges of the snowflake. The little green gems that inspired me to add the green cardstock came from the dollar bin at Mike's. Well, that's all I can say about this card...I will be back later on to post my brother's birthday card. Posting.... :)
