JB:12:17, Oh Christmas Sketch

Well, hello bloggy friends!  I am here to show you my take on this week's Jingle Belles challenge which is this sketch, created by the awesome Stef!

And here is my interepretation:

I had the snowflake already done on my desk, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  Well, when I saw the sketch and what Lauren and Stef had done with it themselves, I just HAD to add more "schtuff" to my already purty snowflake.  I hope that it isn't perhaps TOO much "schtuff"!  The panels behind the snowflake were embossed with the Snowflake Embossiblities plate by Spellbinders.  While still in place, I sponged over top with Antique Linen.  When I was satisfied with it, I then sprayed it with my own shimmery spray in Champagne.  It looks real purty when moving it around in the light!  The three "shiny sticks" at the top of the snowflake are glitter covered toothpicks.  Don't they just remind you of rock candy?  I thought my flake needed something else up top, and that is what I came up with.  So, final it too much?

Well, I guess that's enough description about this card.  I'll get it linked up over at Jingle Belles.  Please make sure you check out the other entries too!  :)  Take care!

  1. Love love love that inky background ... such a perfect neutral palette for that rocking snowflake with just the right amount of schtuff ... so glad you joined us at jingle belles (ps ... love the toothpicks too).

  2. Love the card, there seems to be just the right amount of schtuff to me.

  3. definitely *NOT* too much schtuff, this is gloriously, beeeeeautifully and ELEGANTLY perfect! that soft subtle inky background is just totally right for the va-va-voom snowflake! and i ♥♥♥LOVE♥♥♥ the sparkly sticks--i was totally going to ask where you bought them!!! (glitter + toothpicks, eh? i can do that!) :) :) :) FABULOUS, miss marie!

  4. Gorgeous card Marie! Just the right amount of "schtuff" too! LOVE the idea of the "rock candy". Great idea! Love the browns but think it would be even "cooler" in blues!

  5. Oooooo, so pretty! Marie, I love your color choices; your card has a vintage feel. Beautiful :)
