Christmas in July!

Happy Saturday evening, bloggers!  I am here to share a card I made over last evening and today:

I used the Spellbinders poinsettia die, which is the newest die I've purchased.  I decided I wanted my flower to be bigger, so I cut out 5 of the leaves and used them to "expand" the flower.
This card was going to be all white...that's how I pictured it in my head before I started!  But then I wanted to try some sponging, and this is where it got me!  I like this version too.  :)  I have wanted to try making a paper ribbon using a punch for awhile too, so I did that here.  The punch is from MS, but I'm not sure what it's called.  Swiss Dots ef, The Paper Company sentiment, Tea Dye Distress Ink, and scissors to distress some of the paper edges.  So, this card is going into the following challenges:

               Holly Jolly Christmas:  Something New
           Jingle Belles:  Cardstock Christmas
    Merry Monday:  Anything Goes

One more day of my vacation left...sigh.  I don't wanna go back to work!!!!!  LOL

Take care,

~Marie~

ETA:  This has been recently added to Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge extra for July.  Go check it out!  :)

  3. Marie your card is beautiful. Such a clever idea for the flower and I love the sponging. I made a white card the other day and felt something is missing when it is just white.

  6. Marie, your card is very nicely done, I like how you sponged it. I've been making Christmas cards too. Seems strange to me to make them in July, but I'll be glad I did when It comes time that they need to be sent. I won't panic like I did last year.
