Hello friends! Welcome back...for today's post, it's all about Stella's sketch over at the Catch the Bug blog. Here's the sketch for this week:
And here is my card:
I used Eggbert Winter on this card, and I flipped the sketch on its side. Also, I made a slimline! I AM having too much fun making them this year! I thought those circles in the sketch would be great as snowflakes, so I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes dies. The patterned paper is from the same Recollections 12x12 pad I 've been digging into called Whimsy Christmas. To cover the 8.5" x 3.5" card base, I used a piece from the turquoise Craft Smart Hot Buy paper pad from Michael's that I thought matched well with the blue/ turquoise snowflakes on the paper. I colored Eggbert with alcohol markers to match (sorta). To cut out my image panel and the scalloped layer, I used Spellbinders square and scalloped square dies. The flower element of the sketch is another Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake with a Lawn Fawn mini snowflake on top, and a gem in the middle. The sentiment is also Lawn Fawn, and is from the Winter Village stamp set. It was stamped using my MISTI and Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. All of the die cut snowflakes have Star Dust Stickles added to them, and Eggbert got his share of it as well. I did have to move my sentiment to a different spot than what the sketch calls for, to accommodate my snowflakes.
