STELLA SAYS SKETCH -- SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2020 -- CATCH THE BUG

 Hello friends, and welcome back to my blog.  I will have 2 posts today, so I hope you have time to read both! For this post, I'm here to share my Stella Says Sketch card:

And here is the sketch:

I did the sketch as it was, maybe with the exception of the added layer of the bright green cardstock.  The image I used is Clyde's Christmas.  This file comes with both a pre-colored version, and an un-colored version.  I chose to use the un-colored one since I knew I was using this bright colored cardstock to make the card.  By the way, it is from a 8.5x11 Christmas pack by Recollections that I got several years ago.  

I colored Clyde with my usual combination of Prismacolor markers and Copics, with the occasional Spectrum Noir thrown in.  And because dragons are magical in their own right anyway, and a Christmas dragon is even MORE magical,  I added lots of shimmer to his lighter parts (ears, belly, wings, and spines) with clear Wink of Stella:

If you enlarge this picture and squint your eyes just right, you can kinda see it.  😉  Trust me it is there!  I also took a page from Ashley Tucker's book, and added it to my sentiment flag also:

For additional sparkle, I added Diamond Stickles to the white parts of his Santa hat, the snowflakes in the image, the centers of the snowflakes on the patterned paper, and the centers of the 3 stamped Lawn Fawn snowflakes (Toboggan Together) in the upper left corner.  Those tiny snowflakes were stamped in Memento Cottage Ivy ink.  The sentiment is also from Lawn Fawn (Christmas Dreams), and was heat embossed in Snow embossing powder from Recollections on dark green cardstock.  I adhered the cardstock layers flat to the base.  Clyde's circle was adhered flat to the Petite Scalloped circle, which were both cut using Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment and scalloped circle were then both popped up using foam squares.
